That guy Msl is the self proclaimed know it all GNR insider... and he said some not so flattering things about Izzy demanding to be paid more money... and then izzy tweeted who asking who he was.

Oh, so this is just Izzy correcting the record?  That's actually good. I thought this was going to be more passive aggressive gossipy type shit, like with Ron.

And I can't really say I won't find some comedy in MSL having to backtrack.

I don't know .. Izzy didn't really say anything, just that he wanted to know who he was.

I am only guessing, but if it is true, then it is information that shouldn't be in the public domain as does not help anyone or anything (unless Izzy has given the go ahead to pass on that information to show intention)

If it is false, then obviously Izzy isn't going to be happy about that either.

I've read Msl's site before and his answer to most questions seems to be, "I don't know." Have never seen him claim to be a know it all. He must be some sort of insider though as he announced months in advance the exact day GNR would be announced for Coachella and he was the first person to break the news about Axl meeting with AC/DC.

I made a thread a long time ago that I suspected Izzy and Steven to get jobbed out of money and money being the #1 reason we will not see a full AFD+Patience performance by the AFD lineup at any of these first five shows. Obviously, it was promptly deleted. Sad, Izzy and Steven are probably getting offered like 50k to show up for a few songs while Slash Duff and Axl get to live like kings. But, hey, they have a guy like me who has never even seen Axl and Slash on stage together so I am going to pay to see. Would be awesome if they could come to terms for a full AFD lineup reunion and start each show with that album or something like that. Anyway, whatever, shit happens when you get older and music becomes more of a business than having fun or doing what's 100% right. Wish there was enough money to go around for every original member even if just a few shows. Axl and co. still have time to get it right. They played Double Talkin Jive, there is no doubt they have been talking to Izzy. Hoping it will all work out by this weekend or for Coachella.

I suspect that's true.  Otherwise, I doubt MSL would have removed the post.

Likely Izzy contacted him to tell him it wasn't true, and to "ask" him to remove the post.  But...I guess we'll see.

I don't really think this has to do with money. It would be really lame if Izzy would think he's entitled to a fifth of whatever comes in.

Let me be clear about this: I think Izzy's responsible for some of the best GnR songs. Period. However, he walked away from it all 25 years ago and has since only played a few dates with them. Axl has maintained the GnR company (it IS a company, and quite a big one and employs quite some people I think) and has been fully responsible for that. Also being responsible for all the shit that he (in my opinion undeservedly) got thrown at him over the last 25 years. Yet Axl chose to continue, with all the responsibilities connected to that (that in itself is worth a lot of respect in my opinion).

Next to that, Slash and Duff have worked extremely hard on building careers after Guns N Roses. Slash is a household name nowadays, and actually plays to quite big crowds worldwide. Duff to a lesser extent of course, but was part of Velvet Revolver, wrote some books and was a columnist etc. He's also quite 'famous'.

Izzy is not. No one outside of the hardcore GnR fans know who he is. He also opted to not take any responsibility regarding GnR and all that comes with it. He was out as soon as it became big. And I can definitely understand that from an artistic point of view. His stance that he "just wants to play" is one I can fully respect and definitely can appreciate. However, in a business sense: you can't quit the company you started 30 years ago and left 25 years ago and then expect to get the same cut as back in the day. Slash and Duff can ask for a certain % because they themselves are a brand in itself (especially Slash).

So I can not imagine that it's a money related issue. I think Izzy will pop up along the way somewhere, but that -just like in the old days and with Velvet Revolver- he does not want to be part of the big circus and all the hoopla and responsibilities that comes with it. Because it's too much for him to actually enjoy. I think the reason we see him popping up right now is because he -in his own way- might be contributing to the build up surrounding his former band mates and good friends. But that's just my 2 cents.

His whole site and schtick rubs me the wrong way...not my cup of tea...

He worded it in a way which Izzy was holding out for more money (which might be true).. that can be interpreted as unflattering. Obviously it struck a chord with Izzy one way or the other.

I respect everything you say Freddy, and agree to an extent. But, I think there are two opportunities  coming up to do things right at least for one weekend and throw Izzy and Steven a bone. Izzy never liked the big tours anyway. Perhaps Adler isn't in the best shape to do a full tour either. I bet they are available this weekend and later in this month to play AFD in its entirety for a price fair to all parties. On the upcoming twenty city tour stick to whatever offer is out there. For these shows that cost fans $300, airfare, etc to get in, make more of an efffortto give us original AFD line up. That's my .02 as well. Wish we could get a Go Fund Me going and people who wanted Izzy there could pay him out of their own pocket. I would.

Would love to see it for even one show at some point....

However, with all due respect... I could think of a few better causes in the world to go fund than paying for Steven and Izzy to play with the band.

I want to see Izzy and Steven up there as much as you do btw  :peace: I just think that some fans (not you) are unaware of other factors than 'not enough money' or 'Axl being a dick' scenarios. Maybe Izzy just doesn't want to, but appreciates the reinvigorated attention the reunion of AS&D brings that he therefore throws us a bone (many want to hear and see him) in the form of an official channel of communicating (Twitter) and his newly recorded covers. I don't know, but that could also be an option.

As for Steven, I wish the guy the best. But after seeing him on the Dr Drew(?) Rehab show I kind of lost hope he would ever be reliable enough to tour with GnR, especially after what he recently said about Duff not believing him anymore. He seems to be too dependent on anything that gives him a high, so also being part of GnR.

Agreed.

This was the Eagles argument.  It was Henley nd Frey that kept the name out there.  So they got a bigger cut of the reunion take.

"A band is like a sports team, but not everybody gets to touch the ball."  That was their quote on the matter.

I believe he's referring to the "Appetite for Democracy" DVD/Blu-ray. It was delayed pending approval from Slash. It seems the amicable resolution of that situation cracked open the door for further interaction.

Anybody working in the music industry could have known the announcement of Coachella since that goes by Coachella's agenda and planning, not GnR's. Also, there's no confirmation Axl actually met with Ac/DC. There's also people saying that those pics from TMZ were taken on different days, just put together for a story.

So to me, he never knew anything. And I just read on his website regarding Izzy's tweets what HE said and it seems to me he's just someone claiming to know something, who knows nothing. When people ask follow up questions he answers with 'Enough drama for one day' or something like that. Yeah sure dude...  :hihi: Guy doesn't know shit but likes to get attention.

So there's no way he actually knows why Izzy will or will not be there.

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/report-guns-n-roses-reunion-almost-fell-apart/

That, and Blabbermouth is a piece of shit website for publishing things as a fact (the 100% true part) while nothing about Axl meeting with AC/DC has been proven true. It's still a rumor. They give this MSL loser and the naive the idea he actually IS someone with info while in reality he has not said anything that's proven to be true. Again, like the Coachella thing is something anyone could have guessed right since you just take A) a rumor + B) the dates on which Coachella has announced their line ups in the past and BOOM! you have a 50% chance of 'being in the know'.

I think this was absolutely the case. It was known when the tickets for Coachella were to be released in January. Then you could look back to last year and see how many days beforehand the line-up was announced, and make a very good guess it would happen the same way this year.

Word on the street is that they might be misinformed themselves  :hihi: Or maybe they lied to have a story so that many people click click click so they can sell advertisements. We all know how accurate and trusthworthy TMZ is :'-)

Or maybe they went by what was going around (the Atlanta thing) and bought pictures of Axl and AC/DC members leaving the same building, assuming it was the same day. Well, I've read elsewhere that it wasn't the same day these pictures were taken. I am not saying I know anything, or the whole AC/DC isn't true. I am saying that nothing has been confirmed and no one knows shit. Including MSLoser.

TMZ has a long history of breaking major stories and their accuracy rate is far higher than you're giving them credit for.

Axl is rarely photographed in public. So you're claiming that he just happened to be photographed leaving a rehearsal studio in Atlanta, with his new clean shaven look, and the photographer sat on the photo so that when AC/DC was coincidentally photographed leaving the same rehearsal studio in Atlanta, the photographer could lie and claim the photos were from the same day?

And somehow, also coincidentally, several days before the photos surfaced, MSL claimed Axl was in Atlanta for non-GNR rehearsals?

Man, if MSLoser doesn't know anything, that's a hell of a guess.

Man, if MSLoser doesn't know anything, that's a hell of a guess.

Those pictures on TMZ surfaced way AFTER Axl had already been seen by people at the Atlanta Airport (even a photograph surfaced), AFTER it had been reported that Axl as well as AC/DC were in Atlanta. It was then suggested by some that he might be there to rehearse with AC/DC, while others said he was there to use the same rehearsal spaces for preparing the Las Vegas/Coachella shows.

The pics from TMZ are from the 28th of March, so they didn't break the story, they simply followed up on it. The picture that started that story was FIRST posted on FB, then posted on HereToday and THEN on GnrTruth. If MSL claims to 'know' why Axl was in Atlanta, we can all say 'duh'. Or maybe you can point out where MSL said -before the first pic of Axl in Atlanta surfaced on the 20th of March- that Axl was rehearsing with AC/DC? Maybe I missed that?

Because all the arguments you mention are from AFTER those first pics and stories started developing. And that doesn't make MSL an 'insider' or someone with inside information.

Well I'm not great at linking from there but I will say MSL said axl was in Atlanta for rehearsals, and someone asked something about the details, he said something like "I never said it was with GNR", and all that was before any pictures surfaced.

Jesus Christ, and based on THAT people think he knows shit? And AlternativeNation writes an article about that? He said it (I looked it up) AFTER those speculations were already making the rounds. So if he then says 'I didn't say it was for GnR' he still doesn't say anything. He then still doesn't know anything more than us 'mortals'  :hihi: He plays this game where you can be vague as fuck and then afterwards claim 'Yeah, I know that. That was what I was referring to'. Dear Lord.

Whenever he comes with a story BEFORE anything, or anyone, or any picture has come to surface about something, then I might be convinced he has connections. Until then he just looks like a hand reader. Some shit will eventually stick.

I do not care if anybody has "connections" to ...whoever!
The way you treat people says everything about you - that is important.
Give people power - they will show you their ugliest side.
I will support this one crazy person - speaking his/her mind - whatever others might think.
But not power hungry jealous fuckbags!
I have attitude - and of course I got the right one! 😉😉😉😘

Now MSL is getting credit for the Coachella announcement? Wasnt that done by Billboard or something?

About Atlanta: I think FreddieJames got it right. First the pic with Axl and a fan came up on MyGNR and here. Then MSL "confirmed" he was in Atlanta.

And again: people think he is an insider because of the leaks, but he managed to get them by tricking other people who already had them. He just released them, that's all. Everything else he said about GNR plans didn't happen as far as I remember. He's building a fame of being an insider by tricking those weak outlets that calls themselves as press, like Alternative Nation and Blabbermouth. Really, everything the guy does is based on lies. Why the hell would someone believe in him now is beyond me.

So you're saying Izzy is going to show up to the shows that he deliberately opened a twitter account to say he wasn't going to show up at because some people (albeit assholes) were trying to decipher Izzy's motives and subsequent cryptic tweets??

Sounds about right for Izzy!  :hihi:

Months before Coachella announced their lineup, MSL said the exact day the lineup would be announced. He claimed a friend told him. Was he guessing? I suppose it's possible, but it's also possible a friend told him. Considering he was correct, it seems like a silly thing to call him a liar over.

As for Atlanta, after the pic surfaced in Atlanta, sombody on his board asked him why Axl was in Atlanta. He gave a one word reply. "Rehearsals." People immediately asked him why in the world GNR would be rehearsing in Atlanta. He replied with, "didn't say GNR."

Alternative Nation assumed his comments meant Axl was in Atlanta for the AC/DC rehearsals and wrote an article based on his comments, giving him credit. There was absolutely no talk online regarding Axl and AC/DC before that. Was he guessing? I suppose it's possible, but that's a heck of a guess. Absolutely nobody at that time had said anything about Axl being in town for rehearsals, let alone for a band other than GNR.

Considering he was correct, it seems like a silly thing to call him a liar over.

Is he really tricking AN & BM if he's right? I've never seen a guy get bashed before for being accurate. If he was wrong, I could understand the backlash. But considering he was right, it seems very petty.

Look, just because every now and then he mysteriously gets close to a source of some sort ? coincidentally and for a short time ? does not mean he has the right to spread negative shit like that about Izzy and even sell it out to tabloids. There is no excuse for that. He?s just an attention whore.

I'll be honest I always thought MSL was very fair on that site, I don't find him to be an asshole or big Noter etc

I always thought Jim was the one with a huge chip on his shoulder of anyone had one.

What "negative shit" did he spread about Izzy? He said Izzy and GNR weren't able to agree to terms. Izzy already publicly announced he wouldn't be at the shows.

Sell it out to tabloids? You do realize these sites are reposting his words without his permission right? If a news site quoted your post, should we blame you for selling out to tabloids? What sense does that make?

In my opinion, if fans want accurate info, they should go to GNR's site, GNR's twitter or come to this site since Jarmo is affiliated with the band. But to bash a guy or call him a loser because the media chooses to quote him, something he has no control over, seems weird to me.

i like the site. Htgth is my favorite, but the people at truth are cool too. Jim knows a lot about copyrights and business stuff like pilferk, plus he knows the band's history very well. He's kind of like if pilferk and emily had a baby. Always been cool to me. Guy's amazing on guitar too, and a helluva writer.

His insight into the lyrics on CD is really something else too. I can always bring up so and so song and mention my thoughts about it and what he'll have to say will invariably blow my mind.

Well, in essence I am not bashing him for being 'right'. I am bashing people who think he has some sort of clout regarding what's going on with Guns. And I am bashing him for playing this coy game of 'I know everything but I won't say anything but if you ask basic questions I'll give you a hint of what might possibly be true'. If you know shit, say so or shut the fuck up. That vagueness might be cool to some online nerds but for me it's just annoying because it reminds me of fortune tellers etc: they never really tell you anything. But hey, I don't go this his site so he can say whatever he wants over there. I just don't believe him or take him seriously.

Also because of what he said about Izzy. I think it's none of his fucking business to say that it's because of money. Even if that were true; who is he to spill those beans? What if Izzy doesn't want that to be known? He's only damaging GnR and Izzy so what's his purpose? I know: attention. He's serving no other purpose than himself, either true or false.

And he's not necessarily a liar, he's just not believable either. Again, any fortune teller can do the same shit if you look some stuff up. And the Coachella thing is something that happens around the same date every year, so it's quite easy to 'guess' that date. Because rumors were already flying about a reunion since August, it's quite easy to 'predict' that announcement beforehand. And if you're then proven incorrect you just say 'well, they couldn't agree over money' or 'It imploded before it happened'. Such an easy trick, geez.

OMG I almost spit my coffe hahahahaha

Again, wasn't Coachella already rumored months before by Billboard? And to "predict" the exact day the lineup was announced is nothing, really. Doesn't mean shit. You can have an educated guess based on previous years. As far as I know, lots of people here knew the exact day the Coachella lineup would be announced too.

Do we know he was correct? Do we have official confirmation he was really with AC/DC? Ok, thought not. All we have is rumors here, most of them fueled by your own buddy and a TMZ pic we don't even know if its in context or not.

And you said before his comment was before the picture, and now you're saying it was after the picture:

And somehow, also coincidentally, several days before the photos surfaced, MSL claimed Axl was in Atlanta for non-GNR rehearsals?
and he was the first person to break the news about Axl meeting with AC/DC.

So yeah, first came up a picture of him in Atlant, then he started the rumor about rehearsals. Wich of course could be true, but it's yet to be proved.

Is he really tricking AN & BM if he's right? I've never seen a guy get bashed before for being accurate. If he was wrong, I could understand the backlash. But considering he was right, it seems very petty.
Like I said, the guy managed to get his stuff because he lied. He told himself the truth here several times by the time the demos leaked.

And then later he "predicted" several other stuff that never happened - anyone remember that supposed GNR plan for 2011 or something? So yeah, he was wrong before many times and he didn't do anything out of ordinary now. Doesnt sound petty to me to call him a liar.

What is more weird is how you came up out of your way to defend him here like you'd believe 100% in his words. Maybe DX is right in his comparison to the Dilbert guy. :P

Well, in essence I am not bashing him for being 'right'. I am bashing people who think he has some sort of clout regarding what's going on with Guns. Yeah. And if you're vague enough you can have a safe zone to be right in the future. It's like I'd say "Guns N' Roses will play after the NA tour". :hihi:

This thread is funny because everyone seems like they think they know something about Izzy based on items pulled from.......the internet. Truth is, as per his mysterious ways, I'm sure Mr. Stradlin will magically appear at random shows as a surprise guest. He didn't sound a bit negative on things in statements I read on......the internet. It sounded more like he wanted the dust to settle and avoid drama. Not that I would act like I know anything about Izzy's motives.

It would be the coolest thing on the planet to see Izzy up there again, though.
