I think there is a good chance and am really in favor of doing something for the "Illusions."  Both of the "Illusions" are among the biggest selling rock records of the 90's and yet I feel that they are largely glossed over when it comes to recognizing their significance.   A kick ass deluxe edition could help give these records the proper recognition, especially for younger fans.  "Appetite" put the band on the map , but the "Illusions" solidified them as the biggest band on earth.

I think a good indicator would be the number of UYI tunes in selists this summer.

Let's face it, Axl largely ignored them except for the singles for much of post-2001.

Will the other 2's return mean we get more album cut type tunes?  Dunno.  But think it would be a good sign for something like this to occur.

I think the reason many songs were not played post-2001 is because unlike Appetite the songs on UYI are a little more clear-cut Slash songs, Izzy songs and Axl songs.

I thought the same.

But why no 'Dead Horse'?  That's a 100% Rose composition.  And it was a single and video.

And hell, he finally had a third guitarist to do the acoustic parts.

Could be any reason, not sure. That's just one song though.

They never played 14 Years until they did it with Izzy, so that kinda supports the theory.

It was the same with Velvet Revolver. They've never played songs like November Rain or Estranged.

Yeah I'm ready for a switch up on the set list.

It's gotta be 24 songs i think.

AFD was more of a band effort and UYI was more divided. you guys are right.

I just want a set list where there's like 10 songs in stone every night then the other 12-14 are revolving or something.

Yeah, but they haven't played songs like Dead Horse too for example... if I remember correctly.

Would Jarmo be for or against something like this?

I know he's against promoting the old band

No, it was probably the same situation there when they chose which songs to play. I don't think they played any Izzy songs either.

Yeah, that's what I said  Roll Eyes

I have no problem with this thread. I just answered slashofvr's question, Jarmo is apparently not against the idea of Anniversary or Deluxe editions of the albums since he created a thread about it...

Harder if you have a big stage show with a lot of lights and pyro.

Even that "we don't have a setlist" bit was only true for May-July 1991.  After that, you could pretty much guess the setlist most night and be right within a song or two.

Give Jarmo a break, he fucking loved this band before most of you knew who they were...

As far as an anniversary release, I would be all for it.  Original remaster with some extras that didn't make the cut would be fine by me, hell even a track or 2 we never heard of before?

If they did this properly it could be a killer time.

It would sell... they'd make money and the fans would be elated.

I want more UYI stuff. That long ass tour and all that backstage footage they recorded... the 94-96 timeframe had some songs and demos. I want that stuff
