Saw that he filmed a video for the album in Philly last month--this is exciting, if true, as VGH was fantastic:

Wow, this is very exciting if true.

I was just saying in the picture thread how much I love Tommy. I loved Village Gorilla Head, and can't wait until he releases another solo effort. Tommy is an amazing songwriter and I still listen to Village Gorilla Head every day. I also just saw him live in Toronto with GN'R and I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

I'll be getting this the moment it comes out for sure.  Smiley

"Village Gorilla Head" was indeed fantastic.

Got to see him live when he toured on this album.  A great show.

Really hope a new album is on the way.  Wonder if there is a possibility that a cover of "Sonic Reducer" ends up on the album?

I've never heard VGH but I should check it out. The possibility of a second solo album is cool too.

From Michael Klein's Inqlings column in 1/14/2010 Phila. Inquirer

"Bassist Tommy Stinson (The Replacements, Guns N Roses) shot the video for his solo effort "They Don't Deserve You" on Friday and Saturday at One Rittenhouse, 19th and Sansom Streets. He wrote it with localite Chip Roberts, whose wife, WMGK personality Debbi Calton, was in a scene with Stinson's girlfriend, singer/songwriter Emily Roberts. Alex Emmert of Invictus Films directed and produced."

And can I tell you WHAT FUN we had?Huh Tommy's new music is AMAZING! He wrote and recorded  it in LA and a lot of it here locally. Tommy's girlfriend is my lovely niece Emily so we got to hang out at the video shoot over the course of two days and even got in one scene (a bar scene, of course!) We got hair and makeup and it was quite the surreal experience. The video is being edited and I'll let you know when it's released.  After all the craziness on Saturday, we had a FAB meal at Continental Midtown. Try the octopus!

Tommy's got a whole CD's worth of GREAT music on the way. Meanwhile, he's in Canada right now on tour with Guns N Roses. By the way, he's got Soul Asylum to his credit too.

This is from the link that el_loko posted, it says he's recorded most of the album in LA. She also says that Tommys new music is amazing, the video also sounds like it's going to be alot of fun. If it's as good as Village Gorilla Head were in for a treat.   ok

Definately the best Gn'R solo album to date; you can find copies for $1 on Amazon.

I received mine a month ago or so.. Love it too Smiley
Did pay a bit more than $1 though Wink

I also love Izzy's work, especially '117 degrees'. And even Duff's 'believe in me' is pretty fun to listen to.
Never was a big fan of snakepit to be honest..

Here are some photos from the music video shoot, Tommy looks very cool and awesome. They were uploaded on the 11th Jan, so I'm certain that these are from the ' They Don't Deserve You ' video shoot.

The images seem to be copy protected, if someone can post them please do.  Smiley
