Word on the street is
That it’s an appearance on
Mike Schenker’s new one.

I'm encouraged by all this talk and the pics from the studio.  I think we all are.

But what's that line of Luke Skywalker's in 'A New Hope'?

If there's a bright center of the universe, you're on the planet it's furthest from.

So, in GNR terms :

If there is such a thing as benefit of the doubt, this is the band that's least entitled to it.

Apparently Slash also did something for that album. Not sure if it's for the same track or not. But Axl recording should put all the "he hasn't recorded any vocals since the early 2000s" crowd on notice at least (not to mention that b.s. is demonstrably false).

'Hard Skool' is absolutely a new vocal.  That is not the vocal demo from Zutat's storage locker.

We'll see, it was already a finished song, like the 2 other songs, so I don't expect anything different (old vocals + some reworked guitars). The thing that "worries" me is that they picked the easiest songs, and put them out in over a period of 7 years   nervous. I'd like to be in slash's mind right now  hihi hihi.

For those wondering about the Perhaps news - while we were all speculating from the Spotify stuff ages ago and the band soundchecking it, it appears UMG's website actually posted a link to pre-save the track on Apple Music and Spotify.

https://blabbermouth.net/news/new-guns-n-roses-single-perhaps-to-be-released-next-friday

This is rather interesting - was Universal Music involved in the Hard Skool EP in any way? I remember the lnk.to stuff being updated...

FYI https://gunsnroses.lnk.to/Perhaps now redirects to the band's website.
Other tracks do not. https://gunsnroses.lnk.to/Oklahoma or https://gunsnroses.lnk.to/AtlasShrugged just give a 404 error.

And the pre-save link from UMG

https://preview.mira.umusic.com/page-preview/draft/9138a71f5227422888c7a1c83f1c85a9

Actual promotion even. Guessing the band debut the track during their next show.

When asked about new music from The Who because fans just keep asking for it, Pete Townshend said what's the point?  He was complaining there was no money in releasing new music.

Mozart produced his 3 greatest operas in the last three years of his life and was working on Raquiem when he died.  He was "close to destitute, received a third-class funeral and was buried in a pauper's grave".

You guys get the point, right?

Everybody starts out hoping they will make it big but reality, it's a long shot and you don't immediately go to the big time.  You did it back then for little pay off, what's the difference now that it has to pay?  I just think it's a gift, don't kill it for money.

Well, isn't part of that "point" is accepting that, referring to modern day GNR as a touring/nostalgia act, and not have to listen to a bunch of empty lectures like we just knocked a blind nun down a flight of steps?

It's kind of funny to hear the complaining hours ahead of the band actually releasing new music.
