Axl co-wrote it with (members of?) Asphalt Ballet. They did an album version, GnR did the demo. Come to think of it, who exactly is playing on the demo version of it? I know it's Axl singing, but was it GnR members on guitars?

At the 1992 Summerfest in Milwaukee I saw a hair-metal band (might have been Fast Pussycat, LA Guns... maybe even Asphalt Ballet, but I don't think so... can't remember). Whoever it was performed Crash Diet. I was amazed, because in '91 I had gotten a GNR boot with that demo. I knew the words, the melody, the guitar parts. I loved the song and couldn't believe I was hearing someone play it. Wish I could remember who played it. I know they didn't introduce the song or mention a title afterwords, but it was definitely Crash Diet.

Crash Diet
W Axl Rose/Arkeen/James and Danny Clarke (guitarist, Asphalt Ballet)

On the demo its Axl (vocals)
Izzy and West Akeen guitars and in his break through appearence 'Drum machine' on drums......
Not sure who plays bass....

The album version appears on Aspahlt Ballet's 1993 'Pigs' album

Asphalt Ballet are a awesome band, check out 'soul survives', 'tuesday's rain' and 'anybody'

Tonally and in terms of playing style, it sounds like Duff.
