Guns n Roses Wembley Arena 2004

Think i may have discovered some big news, hope it helps!!!!

Ive been reading this message boards for ages and have only posted a few times. Im going to list all my sources so that you dont think im making any of this up, im just your average Guns n Roses fan who is desperate for some information. Last night i stumbled accross this guns n roses rumor page, im sure some of you have seen it:

The rumor that caught my attention was the one about the supposed Guns n Roses London date sometime in May/June, and the fact that they would be playing at a major venue.

About the biggest venue in London is Wembley Arena, so i went to their site:

Checked to see if anything was booked for the rumored date of the weekend of the 12th, nothing was, so i thought i would send Wembley an email to see if they could give me any information.


Here is the email:

I have been hearing information that Guns n Roses have pre booked/booked concert dates in London possibly at Wembley, for sometime around May/June 2004. I was wondering if you had any information on this, the rumoured date is the weekend of 12th of June as dates have been pre booked at the SECC in Glasgow for June 8th and possibly the 9th and 10th. I know the booking agent is Mean Fiddler and although the dates are not confirmed the 'slot' for the 8th has been booked and 'second slots' have been booked for 9th and 10th. I checked the ?whats on section? of your website and noticed that nothing was booked for the weekend of the 12th.

Any information would be greatly appreciated no matter how small

I sent this, recieved the usual auto-confirmation email, and then waited for a reply. Came home today checked my emails here is what i had recieved:

Thanks for your email. We have heard nothing as yet from the promotional
company as to when the date goes on sale.

Now, can anyone else help me out with this. When i read that email it says to me:
1 - That this was written by someone and is not an automatic response (already had one of those)

3 - That they confirm that it is booked but cant tell me when the tickets go on sale.
4 - 'heard nothing as yet from the PROMOTIONAL COMPANY' meaning the event is going to be promoted at some point.

Ive given web addresses to where i got all my information from, id be greatful to hear everyone elses opinion on this, and how they interpret the email, i dont think ive interpreted it wrong, to me it sounds like this is booked and all that is left to do is promote the event and sell some tickets, which i can assure you i will be purchasing.

I agree with your interpretation, FYI.  Sounds like a confirmation that the date is booked, but no on sale date has been given.

Bad news...ive just rang Wembly Arena box office and they didnt have anything booked for that date on the system.  The operator even checked with her supervisor.  Looks like its a no show...at least for now.

I think that the reply was just worded wrong by the guy.  It does sound like there was a date in there somewhere..maybe he just typed it wrong....

EDIT: Pilferk and dark made me call...happy now guys?

When a band books a venue, that venue has to keep the booking secret until the promoter says so. The information is confidential

I think there is some truth to this, isn't this how the 2002 European tour started?  All the dates being announced at once.....I think they will all sell out as soon as GN'R is added to the bill.

Tied, most normal people consider "soon" one to two months. Summer is not "soon"....hell I don't even consider soon May 30. Boys and girls, it is hell getting old.

This would be excellent news if its true. Not only does June 12th fall on the weekend after my final exams finish (hence putting all my 'stuck at home revising whilst GnR are playing on my doorstep' nightmares to rest), ut Wembley arena is about 30 minutes train ride from me!

Just a shame, then, that Wembley Arena is the absolute epitome of the 'souless warehouse'  concert venue. Here's hoping they play Earls Court instead if they are returining to London.

If this is true i would be over the moon, i`m near Tottenham so its not far at all. Also i`ll just have finished university for the summer, but this probably is nothing so i won`t get my hopes up. Seeing Incubus at Hammersmith on 1st June so it would be a wicked couple of weeks. Fingers crossed!

As for Wembley being a souless warehouse, its not the best venue around. Saw Foo Fighters standing there and that was annoying purely because of the seats and being so far from the stage with no screen could see sweet fa. While back in november i saw Muse, this time standing and had a fantastic time, i guess it depends where about you are - but standing right at the front was incredible.

shit, i will be seeing the who on june 11th at the isle of wight festival, just have 2 catch one of their more northern tour dates, if it happens!!

God I hope this is true, and its the start of chinese democracy, I just dont want to get to excited about it cause this is GNR and as much as I love GNR they dont exactly have the best track record , but anyways thanks to JOnx for being cool enough to tell us where he is getting his info cause alot of 1 or 2 post people post rumors and they're inventing stuff and dont ever provide a source so jonx thanks for giving us a source.

In my ever so humble opinion, it sounds to me as though all of your interpretations were dead on and the shows at least appear to be booked...Great stuff again...much appreciated!

I know one of the big venue contacts in London, and it appears that gnr have booked something for London. I cannot get further info though because of all the confidentiality shit

Who would believe that anyways,there are to many rumors.
