Someone look this up (I am at work or I would) - when was the last time GNR did not play November Rain? Not including the acoustic shows and stuff. Granted there was no room for the piano, I am just curious about this factoid!

I'm guessing, but I think it was May 25th, 1991 Alpine Valley, WI.

I believe it would be the May 28th 1991 show, the night before the famous pro-shot in Indiana. The show also took place in Indiana, same venue as the next night where they premiered it. This show is often forgotten because the next night is so famous.

However, some setlists between 91-93 are incomplete, so it is entirely possible there could have been a show where a technical snafu or something prevented them from playing it.

Back to the topic though, thank you for the updates Cotis, we are all glad at least one real gunner was there amongst the nyc glass throwing hipsters Smiley

Last time 'November Rain' wasn't played was, for obvious reasons, on August 8th 1992 at  Stade Du Parc Olympique, Montreal, Canada.

I believe some gear was rented for the show - heard that from someone last night. Maybe it was just one of Frank's kits he has at home or something, or it could have been rented all together.

Thanks!

It was great. 99.9% of the people there at no idea how lucky they were to hear it at The Hiro...

I reckon 99% of the people there didn't realize just how lucky they were to be in the venue. Blah.
As a native New Yorker I was happy to hear that no one was hurt w/ that thrown bottle/glass - would have hated for the band to have left NYC w/ a bad experience even though I'd bet that the asshole who threw it was some transplanted hipster.
