a person said they were in the Village in NYC and saw a poster of VMA's with Axl's pic and said they think that at VMA's, they will announce CD release date.

In the new issue of Blender magazine (with Paris Hilton on the cover) there is indeed a full page ad for the VMAs (showing the moonman statue though) with a huge purple box over it and the phrase ALL WILL BE REVEALED.

So if this guy is lying, he's half right anyway.

Okay, I just registered to give you this info. I saw a commercial on VMA 2006 last week on MTV in the early afternoon, and it was featuring all of the artists. While I was still listening, I heard Guns N' Roses, with a short Band Pic(Some Concert they attended that was taken), and that was it. It was a short commercial, but I couldn't believe my ears. I went to HGTGH or Chinese Democracy, and there was nothing about this. I was shocked! Then when someone say that they saw a pic with Axl w/ VMA on it, I had to reply. You may say "Fowl!" but I don't care. I'm not trying to give hope or anything, but I'm just trying to tell you that I experienced this.

Of course, there should be talks about Guns N' Roses coming to VMA 2006 because I know about 2 million people watched that commercial, but I'm surprised nobody was talking about it.

Oh see now that I know that I will actually watch it which I haven't done since 2002!

Before everyone kills this guy I just want to add that last night I was in New York at the James Gang show. As we were walking to the show a poster on the side of a mailbox or streetlight or something caught my eye. From what I can remember it was a yellow (or perhaps orange) poster. There were no images on it from what I noticed, only text, but it said something along the lines of "All will be revealed. August 31st". There were a few more lines of text on the poster but I didn't take note of what it said as we were just walking by.
      I never would have thought of it again but what this guy claims to have seen made me think of it. Once again, I saw no pictures or anything, only text but the poster contained the words "All will be revealed. August 31st". I'm not jumping on any VMA bandwagon, I just wanted to substantiate this guys claims. The poster I saw may have nothing to do with Axl or the VMAs, but there are posters in NYC that say what he told us he saw. If anyone wants to check it out it should be somewhere between 71st and 74th on Broadway. The concert was at the Beacon theater so the poster would be on the same side of the street. However, I may be wrong and I may have seen it on the way to diner. In that case it would be somewhere between 53rd and 6th and 48th and I think 9th, but it might have been 8th. I'm pretty sure I saw it on the way to the show and not dinner but I may be wrong.
      Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know that some sort of poster (yellow or orange with black or perhaps dark brown lettering) in NYC is advertising that "All will be revealed. August 31st." Don't know what it means or has to do with GNR (probably nothing) but it does exist.

I would highly doubt that MTV would promote the VMA's with "All Will Be Revealed" in relation to Guns N' Roses.  It's not a celebration of ONE band, a lifetime achievement award for a band who has yet to release an album.  It just doesn't seem to fit.  I think we're reading into this one a little bit.  However I must say, I hope it's about them and I hope they play there.  But I doubt it.

Some months ago there was a thread about some GNR site, I'm not sure what site it was, and mysteron told us that the management was aware of the site and knew who ran the site. If you're talking about this, are you sure it was about the riddle site?

the person who allegedly saw the poster made one post and now can not be heard from.  We believe spontaneous combustion is responsible.  Its been a few hours since weve heard from him.  Though something might happen at the vmas, this appears to be bullshit.  Some dude saw 1 poster some where in nyc and has mysteriosly vanished,  I wouldnt put too much into this yet.

Mysteron only says that to by cryptic and to dodge the question (nothing wrong with this by the way). It's obvious he has links with Merck what with organising the presales and all that. My guess is that he's just a sanctuary spokesperson. He communicates whatever Merck tells him to. Merck probably doesn't do it himself because if he was a member of this board he would get inundated with questions which could harm any confidentiality with his artists.

i live in nyc and havent seen the poster someone was claiming to see. im not saying it doesnt exist, but i havent seen it. i have seen some vma poster, but they are just plain posters saying when the  event is. btw- its august 29th and dizzy also has a hookers n blow gig in ma on that same night, so it seems to me, gnr wont be at the vma's....

Sorry to be repetitive but I repeat that I saw a similar poster on Friday night. It could have been on the way to dinner which means it could be anywhere between 53rd and Avenue of the Americas and the Josuha Tree restaurant which I think was on 46th). So if anyone wants to run around New York and retrace my steps in an attempt to find a poster that probably is only promotional for the VMAs and has nothing to do with GNR, be my guest. You now know where to look.

I live in NYC and I saw one of these around 23rd street near 5th, I think.  Poster definitely exists.  What was interesting was that in some thread (I believe one for the presales, dunno), someone was posting those exact words...

Could be nothing.  Then again, it would rock for them to blow the roof off the VMAs!

If any of you want to watch the boring VMA's which have been a complete joke the last couple of years, then have fun, and dont be disappointed. I would suggest recording it, that way you can watch it back in fast forward and if by some fluke GNR are there then you can just press play.

Guys, I have seen a ton of VMA promotional posters and such, and none of them have Axl Rose on them.... this guy is full of shit.

"All will be revealed" is referring to a new behind the scenes live show that will be on Overdrive (mtv's on line video channell).  There was a segment for most memorable moment in the VMA's and they did mention the return of GNR in 02.
There is always that chance they'll be an anouncement but I much doubt it. 

I think that was mysteron answering someones question as to whether or not guns will be playing mostly small venues or a mix between large and small.

the last time in 2002, the gn'r thing came together 4 days before the VMA's. and MTV's only conformation was an email from guns management...i believe thats what was said on the VMA backstage special. so who knows...i know i'll be watching

Yeah, in that 2002 interview I posted earlier today, I remember Axl saying they decided about the VMA's a few days before, and that they didnt even know what they were playing until that very day, so they had to rehearse the medley. saomething like that...

hey im pissed of with all these rumours not knowing if they are true or not,so ive just emailed mtvuk where the suppossed advert was on and asked them if its true and whether they can tell me if gnr are gonna be there and i asked them about the posters in nyc .prob wont do any good or they prob wont tell me anyway but ive asked on the off chance,so any replys and i;ll let you all know.

i never watch mtv anymore either but i do watch the vma's. yeah most everything is complete shite nowadays but i check out the vma's regardless. i'm really not expecting to see gn'r play or axl to appear in any way but i am hoping to hear some news on chinese democracy.

by far the best scenario would be if they compiled some footage from the tour with an announcement. t
his takes away the scetchiness factor as far as a live to air performance goes - we dont want a repeat of 2002 . This way the footage will be controlled and compiled of the best moments of the Euro tour - could be a very effective and exciting way to get things kicked off - and of course the audience and exposure would be fantastic

I think GNR should perform at the VMA's since he is going to finally release Chinese Democracy this year.  I'm sure MTV would love to have them, since they blow away the rest of the performers, and I don't see why Axl wouldn't do it, so I bet that they show.

The poster must be BS. There's no memtion of Gn'R appearing at this years VMAs on the official MTV VMA website. IF they knew Gn'R were going to appear they would say so on the website. They mention Shaun White appearing (isn't he a snowboarder?). If Gn'R do show it'll be a last minute thing. What would be good, taking into account that it is a video awards show, if maybe MTV were to air Gn'Rs latest video (assuming there is a new video. Wasn't there a rumour a little while ago about a Gn'R video being shot. That could have been BS too  :peace: )
