Epiphone Guitar, part of the Gibson Guitar family of brands, is confirmed as the headline sponsor of the fourth annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. These awards look set to be the most explosive on the UK calendar when some of the biggest stars from the world of rock and metal go head-to-head.

Koko in London?s Camden Town will host the Metal Hammer Golden Gods which will take place on Monday 12th June 2006 and will see the likes of Guns N? Roses vocalist Axl Rose and guitarist Slash come face-to-face for the first time since the band split in 1996. Timed to coincide with the end of the Download Festival, the Metal Hammer Golden Gods attracts the attendance of the stars who appear on stage at Donington for one last celebration before heading home.

could be interesting..i think they are both adults now in a better frame of mind and will probably get along good and have a few drinks afterwards. beer and i think axl feels like he should be at a place with golden gods in its name so i believe he will show up.

I can see Slash going he was at the Kerrang awards a year or 2 back and these last year so I wouldn't rule out Slash going. As for Axl going, that seems more unlikely but not impossible he's certainly been full of surprises this year so far so who knows.

I was going on the assumption both were invited like the original article suggests, if one of them is not invited then obviously they won't just show up. But if both have been invited to the event then yeh I would say the final decision is with them.

Nobody knew about the UK tour "ages ago". Up until recently, CC's policy prevented a UK tour from even occuring. Some sort of deal had to be worked out. But since you know everything you must have already known about that.

He knows a hell of alot more then you, and most people here, and yes I would class him as an "insider", maybe not on the same level as Mysteron but he still has contacts. And since you don't know the guy or what he knows you shouldn't attack him
