The interesting part of this all is that there were rumors Slash would join GNR a month into the tour.  June 12th is exactly one month after the 1st NYC show.  Hey, at least there is a shred of hope.

This is insane.  I hope it is true.  Axl jammed with Izzy on a few songs, why not Slash now?  I am positive about it. It is better then being negative.

Slash went last year, wouldn't be suprised if he shows up again. As for Axl...well it's the day after Download and he is up for a golden god award (of whom normally perform at the end) so I wouldn't rule it out at the moment
Are you sure?  I was there with a VIp pass all night and def didnt see him. Lemmy, Chad chili pepper and Tony Iommi and anthrax were the people i saw wandering around. wow - if he was there am gutted i didnt see him!

Merck Mercuriadis has told us that Axl Rose will NOT be attending the Metal Hammer Golden Gods event on June 12th.

I think Metal Hammer had probably hoped otherwise. Oh well, shit happens.

Epiphone Guitar Sponsors Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2006

Press release
Source: Gibson Guitar

Epiphone Guitar, part of the Gibson Guitar family of brands, is confirmed as the headline sponsor of the fourth annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. These awards look set to be the most explosive on the UK calendar when some of the biggest stars from the world of rock and metal go head-to-head.

Koko in London?s Camden Town will host the Metal Hammer Golden Gods which will take place on Monday 12th June 2006 and will see the likes of Guns N? Roses vocalist Axl Rose and guitarist Slash come face-to-face for the first time since the band split in 1996. Timed to coincide with the end of the Download Festival, the Metal Hammer Golden Gods attracts the attendance of the stars who appear on stage at Donington for one last celebration before heading home.

Since the band split in 1996?
Fuck that shits me. I wish some people would do there fuckin home work.

 peace

Guns N' Roses are not split they just did a fucking show today!

Wake up from your dream Guns N Roses was Axl Slash Duff Izzy & Steven, & Steven could be replaced with Matt, Izzy cant be replaced, neither can Slash or Duff, so the band did split.

Axl can own the name, he cant own our ears or eyes, & what we see in front of us & hear is not Guns N Roses. I'm not saying this new band is crap or ANYTHING its just the matter of fact that this band is not the same one that made AFD & UYI & even SI!!! so WAKE UP!

I didn't see Slash last year actually but I believe he was there.  he def wasn't at the after party.  I think Lemmy was last to leave the aftershow - that man can f**kin drink like a fish!  That idiot from HIM was there too - what an arse!

My info tells me that Axl wont be there.

Seems like some of you have just skimmed through the thread and missed this little item.  I know that most people here don't think of Splat as reliable, but...if Merck said it was a no-go... I'd think he knows what he's talking about.
