It's Rick.... Still trying to stay revelant after stealing songs from the band.  His 15 min were up a long time ago.

Rick is old news.  So I have to wonder why this is coming up again?  It's not like GNR is hot news.  Not getting ready to drop a new album, right?  Not getting ready to tour the US.  I'm thinking no comment from the band for this article.

Looking to ruffle Axl's feathers?  Somebody getting their side out there before a lawsuit?

Kind of bizarre to see this story, imo.

Get Him to the Greek or Bill and Ted type adventure.  I wouldn't have tried to analyze it.  WTF pretty much covers it.   :hihi:

I've got to be honest, I've only casually been following the Gn'R world the past few years so while I knew there were leaks, I didn't know the story behind them (and I still haven't heard the leaks). The article was an interesting read and a bit of a stroll down memory lane with names I recall from back in the day.

I think I even worked with the Dr Pepper guy on a radio promotion in Phoenix when Chinese Democracy was released. I supplied the classic rock station with 25 copies of Chinese Democracy and he got free Dr Pepper included. 14 years ago, wow!

I sent my free Dr Pepper coupon to a guy in England for his GNR collection.

so this guy spent 20 years and 15.000 dollars to listen to a B-Side not better
than Catcher in the Rye and being banned to the shows of his favorite band.

congrats dude, you're a real winner.

PS : Tom Zutaut works as a car salesman in North Georgia?

Sounds like he got his money back, but yeah, seems like a lot of effort for not much return. I also think he intentionally got himself thrown out of that show. How would they know you're there unless you intentionally put yourself in harm's way? It wasn't like it was an up close and personal show. The Tom Zutaut car salesman is the craziest part of the article, IMO.

The whole story reeks of who's coning who, then and now.  The con started at the beginning of the story if you ask me.  But it's interesting enough if you just go along with it.

There's some transferable skills or parallel skills with a car salesman.  I think the idea is you go up the ladder.

well, I don't want to sound too judgemental here, I'm sure he's a hardcore fan with too much time in his hands.
but yeah, the Tom Zutaut story is kinda sad. maybe he's not, and good for him if it's the case.

about Zutaut, they fired him? or he was working as a freelancer for record companies?
doesn't look like he has much support from the guys he helped become millionaires...
