Title: Bootlegging Has Been On Point
Post by: D-GenerationX on April 20, 2016, 09:49:57 AM
So we already have recordings of the first 3 shows.  Decent ones too.  Each seems better than the last.

This is good because I thought the bootlegging efforts from 2011-2014 were pretty slack.  Honestly, it didn't break my heart, because I did not think they were particularly strong shows given Axl's inconsistent vocals.  That said, I'd still rather have as many with decent sound as I could get a hold of.  Still boggles my mind that we never got a decent one from the 2014 residency.

Anyway, many thanks to the people doing the grunt work.  It is much appreciated.

Yeah. I think even 2010-2014 lacks many good boots.
Especially vegas 4.6.2014 and 6.7.2014 would be gems to have.

Yeah, that kills me.  Those last 2 Vegas shows in 2014 would have been worth having.

I was always surprised that the December 2001 Vegas shows never produced a single recording.

Yes, considering audio recordings it is pretty strange. I'd think someone would have been able to sneak a recorder in.

But that was the time before smartphones, so I'm not surprised we have no video. And cameras weren't that small either so they were pretty easy to take away, especially as it was a smaller venue.

It was pretty obvious from the get go that these shows would be widely bootlegged.  'Bullet Records' bootlegged Limulus' first Vegas recording within two or three days of him torrenting it.  They're charging pretty good money for it as well.

Can't blame anyone for not taping any more shows after shit like Rio '11 and the Bridge School disaster.  The whole thing was running itself into the ground, there was no interest anymore...

Honestly, I doubt many of my bootlegs from 2001-2014 will get a lot of play going forward.

The ones I listen to the most are UYI, because that is my favorite era of the band.  It also was something I was looking to revisit.  Not sure I'll be doing that with my NuGNR boots.

Yet I still listen to studio tracks for CD pretty often.  But I don't really see the point of listening to the replacement line-ups do AFD songs now that I have AFD guys back in the fold.

I love bootlegs, specially when the gig is special in itself like the first Vegas gig.

But I'm dying to get a soundboard. I was trully bummed that Coachella only had two songs.. And I don't see any other show in the near future with possibility to have soundboard.

Soundboards basically have to be stolen from the crew.  Maybe we'll get lucky somewhere.

Not talking about that. It could be from a broadcast or streaming too.

I created a boot from the 6.6 show some time ago. Quality varies cause i made it from tons of different youtube vids, but its complete and mainly good quality.

I can create a new link for it if you want.

Thanks for that link, rebelhipi.  Really appreciate it.

The download crapped on me a few times halfway through, but it finally came through last night.
