In the latest post on his blog, Matt Sorum mentions meeting Axl in New York City:

Then last night I went to a club called 6 and 8s.
While getting out of the cab I run into Sean Lennon who was leaving and when inside there was AXL ROSE. Oh my God.
I hadn't seen him in at least 6 years.
I walked over and said Hello.
We shoke hands.
And it was pleasant.
Later that evening I ended up in a loft somewhere in the East Village.
Where Axl was again.
We spoke for quite sometime. And it was nice to clear somethings up.
I told him how great of a frontman he was while I was in the band and no hard feelings from me at all.
It was an all around
Good vibe I think.

After the party ended. Axl gave me a
Ride back to my hotel
In his suburban.

Ok...now I'm starting to think there might be some truth to the reunion rumors.  Just the way that blog entry from Matt was written, it seems like a cover-up...or some sort of a pre-emptive strike.


I can't put my finger on it exactly...but who knows.

Also, was their ever any documented fued between Axl and Matt? I don't recall any.

On VH1's "Behind the Music," Matt's interviews seemed to portray Axl as an unreasonable tyrant (not a quote, just pulling form memory), and I remember Matt saying that he encouraged the others to take a stand and confront Axl. ?I don't know that there was any fued per se, but it definintely seemed like bad blood to a certain extent...

there was a section on gnr a few years back on one of the tv stations over here - they were counting down expensive videos or something - and matt was interviewed. it was a few months after live era has been release and he was pretty angry about the whole thing. he had a rant about being listed as an additional musician "despite playing on the illusions and the tour" and was just talking shite about axl being a tosser and it not being guns n roses.

im sure ive read articles in more recent times where he has badmouthed him (actually, he claimed the additional musician label was axls revenge on him for talking shit previously - that axl wouldnt come out in public and confront him).


on a side note: he isnt a gunner. steven played on civil war. fuck off matt sorum.

Wonder did they touch base concerning Axl's recent press release and Weiland's response? Matt never responded publically to Slash allegedly "hating him". To me it sounds like they merely talked about the times when Matt was in the band, and all the things that happened during that period.
