OK. So I don't know if anyone is willing to go so deep and detailed as me, but I am interested of which part (from to) is something that impress You most in each song on CD. For example I am getting emotional, deep, happy and whatever in Catcher from 1:50 to 2:50 - that drum fill, NA NA NA and Ron's solo...  drool

Format:

1. Song name - from X:XX to X:XX - short explanation

I am writing mine on a piece of paper as I am listening to CD and will post my 1 - 14 later today.

Thanks!

-velimir
___________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________

1. Chinese Democracy - from 3:37 to 4:20 - that ending is just amazing, the drums are perfect, sound of lead guitar during the last part is wooooohhhhhooooo, had some doubts between opening of the song and this, but in the end it was ending

2. Shackler's Revenger - from 3:00 to 3:35 - again the ending ... bumblefly guitar is amazing and also the guitar that comes in at 3:18 is warm and perfect ... all very energetic, very heavy and great

3. Better - from 2:22 to 3:19 - that thing is pure evil ... one of the heaviest parts on the album... perfect, was considering Robins solo also, but ...

4. Street Of Dreams - from 2:16 to 3:00 - Robin is the winner here with his great solo and there is some great drumming, although the ending on this one is also great, Axls voice shines and also Richards lead guitar

5. If The World - from 2:01 to 2:15 - this song has become like a reference song to my ears ... I compare everything with it, greatly produced, greatly sounding, still nothing tops the old AM sounding radio effect and gipsy ULA sounds from Axls mouth

6. There Was A Time - from 3:43 to 6:41 - this was one of the hardest song to decide. like the whole outro is amazing, but when does the outro start ... almost at the beginning of the song hihi so I had to put something and I put 3:43 ... great guitars, great vocals, great drumming ...

7. Catcher In The Rye - from 1:50 to 2:51 - that is one of the fines moments on the album for me... the drum fill and NANANA and than the Rons solo... Brian You did an amazing work, but You are not missed in this song, that solo from Ron is top of the class  Cheesy, great bass guitar lines in this song also...

8. Scraped - from 2:00 to 2:30 - go Bumble, go Bumble, go Bumble ... the solo is best part of the song and wow, the whole song would sound amazing instrumental

9. Riad N' The Bedouins - from 0:00 to 0:47 - so finally the beginning from hell ... another song that would kick ass instrumental, great musical complexity, but Axl voice in the end (from 3:15 to 3:30) is like best ever

10. Sorry - from 4:32 to 5:58 - what about this ending  Shocked ... just shut up and sing ... and that drumming in the end ...  drool

11. I.R.S. - from 2:40 to 3:02 - no doubt about it, when there is John Wayne in the lyrics it has to be best part Wink ... really, this one flows like shit ... great vocals, great guitars, great drums ...

12. Madagascar - from 4:23 to 5:37 - another great ending, especially the part where Axl comes back after the guitar solo, blows me away every time ...

13. This I Love - from 3:16 to 3:50 - another no doubt for me, one of the best songs ever, Robins solo shines like laser beam especially the second part together with all other instruments ... rich & emotional crying

14. Prostitute - from 4:44 to 6:15 - OUTRO of course ... no words needed to describe it ...

 ok

Bitch, this sounds like a cool idea for a thread.  I was thinking about this last night.  That technology they used during the presidential debates could come in handy with something like this.  I think the viewers were given knobs set in the middle at 5, and with negative feelings they could lower the number toward 0, and with positives, towards 10, and a computer tracks the averages.

Well Guys in all honesty i would have to say:

Sorry:   From 2:57-4:41 is unbeliveable, i get goosebumps each and every single time i hear that particular part of Sorry.  It defintley sparks a past event in my life.  My favortie solo is from 2:57 - 3:36 from the same song. This is my most favorite and most listened to song on Chinese Democracy.

Words cannot explain how much this album means to me and how much i enjoy listening to it every chance i get.

All well and good
I?ll kick you ass
Like I said that I would

You tell them stories
They?d rather believe
Use and confuse them
They?re numb and na?ve
The truth is the truth hurts don?t you agree
It?s harder to live with the truth about you
Than to live with the lies about me

Nobody owes you
Not one god damn thing
You know where to put your
Just shut up and sing

BTW::  Merry Christmas everyone, i might not be home or online to wish yas happy holidays over the next few days as im heading to the parents for Christmas and New Years. beer

Take care...

A great ending to a great album - it can bring me to tears at times.....

Great Thread, by the way!

The Best part is on "Prostitute" where Axl sings "OOHHH I got a message for You.....Up and away, is what I've got to do!!"

Very emotional line. I love it!

I read this thread thinking What The? but once I gave it some thought - man there's so many moments!!!!!

My favorite is probably the guitar solo at the 3:39 mark of BETTER.  After being smashed with that kick ass riff earlier that someone already picked above, we get a gorgeous solo, a calming moment and to be honest when listening to the song for the first few times hearing the solo at 3:39 is when it all made sense.  I love the swagger and groove of the tune, I listen intently for the riffing at 2:22 and cannot wait for the 3:39 mark!

There's many 'moments' on the album, will dig out some more a little later!

ChiDem 3,51 - 4,13
SR 2,18 - 2,53 (solo + no one is stoppin.......)
Better 3,39 - 4,38 solo + last verse. beautiful) Some great lyrics.
Street OD 3,51 - 4,13

IFT 2,02 when the sound is mixed up, think its awesome. And 3,19 to 3,46 w/solo.
TWAT   first and last 5 second (angel choir), lyrics like "knowing you it won't change a damn thing...." then 2,40 and to the end. Awesome guitars and wailing "I would do anything for youuuuu....."
CITR  3,39 - 3,51 GOOSEBUMPS (Cause what used to be is not there for me, I ought to find someone that belong insane like I do..) Great lyrics. solo at 4,13. the ending verse (4,13: and the the voices went away....guitar)

Scraped chorus break at 2,38 + the ending 3,21 - 3,27 (like how the song is suddently cut)
Rhiad solo at 2,53---     + chorus 3,15-3,30
Sorry  4,32 (the way he holds the tone when he sings "siiiiiiing" and then the powerfull and great chorus. some great lyrics (use and confuse....... truth is the truth hurts...)

IRS 2,39 "BET YOU THINK IM DOIN' THIS ALL FOR MY HEALTH"... really like the lyrics... "could it be the way I've carried on" and the 10 sec scream 3,33-3,43.
Maddy: Like the start, the speaches (how can someone grow up with all of this around 'em?") and the ending (we held together)

TIL  solo at 2,31, chorus at 3,51 (more powerful) and the ending is also nice.
Prostitute Drum break at 0:58 "why would they tell me to please those that laugh in my face?" , 3,43 - 4,01 "ASK YOURSELF, WHY I WOULD CHOOSE...." and the last solo at 4,20 the the slow fading...

Last verse of IRS when Axl vents!

1000000% agree!!

This is the best thing on the album IMO.  Where he starts with "I bet you think I'm doing this all for my health"   That has always been the best part of CD for me from the seond I heard it on the first shitty quality leak.  The final version is even better with that drum intro.  This is pure GNR to me and is the perfect example of why making an album is all about choices and how Axl makes good choice most of the time.

That guitar in the background at the end is what made this song so awesome for me.  I don't know who's playing it, maybe Bumble?  But to me it sounds like a paranoid elephant!  It gets higher and higher, like a dramatic build-up.  Very cool.

too me, the most raw and emotional moment on CD is in There Was A Time

When Axl sings

I Would Do Anything for you/There Was A Time staring around 3:51 and going all the way until the solo comes in(well the whole solo)

It is very emotional and powerful..sounds more heartfelt than anything on the album too me

The defining monents of Chinese Democracy?

The bucket shred / Axl scream at the end of IRS really gets me going. Of all the leaks, I feel this was the 'most improved' on final version of the album. Can't exactly tell why either

The heavy bit in Better...will never forget the goosebumps when I first heard this. Hope they really make a thing out of this on the video

The end of Sorry

The way Axl holds the notes in Prostitute

The drums in the outro of Catcher (admittedly I preferred the Josh Freese drums, but new ones still pretty good)

Rythym guitars in Schackler towards the end

One thing I love about CD is how you can have the album on in the background and then at certain points it just screams your attention and brings you right back in... ok

Around 2:00 - 2:10 in "This I Love" with the overdubbed harmony of "In my heaaaaaart". Goose bumps everytime. Of course you could just put down the whole song for me as well.

Well, I love Scraped 3rd chorus. It has a power chord progression (unlike the first two), but also with the awesome heavy guitar riff over it at the end of each line. Amazing. Cheesy
