Title: GNRadio
Post by: GUNNER on September 16, 2011, 06:17:59 AM
Hi folks.

I?m a GN?R fan since 1992 and I?ve been following some fanbases on the web from more than a decade. Throughout this time, it has always been my main concern to promote unity between the band and its fans.

As you know, it?s not always easy being GN?R fan but I think a lot of times it gets more difficult due to the fact that some fans cannot accept different perspectives, which ultimately generates unnecessary conflicts.

These kind of fans would have more to win if they?d come closer to each other, valuing what we all have in common, rather than what distinguishes us. In this respect, I have no doubts in stating that, above all, what unites us is the music.
On the other hand, I note there has been little innovation over the past years, little innovation or at least relevant, regarding how different communities are structured.

I think the lack of innovation is something that limits and prevents us from growing as communities.

Again, it has been my concern to develop projects that promote closeness between the fans. It was in that context that I?ve idealized an online radio channel, to which I called GNRadio.

Some time ago, I?ve implemented the GNRadio at the http://www.gunsnrosesportugal.com website and its forum at http://www.gunsnrosesportugal.com/forum. Thus, the GNRadio can be heard by any guest from these pages through the embedded player. The GNRadio?s ideal is, above all, to play music from fans to the fans, music that can encompass the entire GN'R universe and related bands.

However, the GNRadio?s potential goes beyond a mere tool for charging music. Imagine the diversity of programming that can be created by any user that is enabled as a DJ at the GNRadio. Or, think about how the GNRadio can grow, to the point of being stated as a component of mainstream media, regarding the issues/news related to GN'R.
Personally, in this area, I do not think we need the conventional media, nor their lack of professionalism, and not their ignorance either. I do not need this:

Being so, I invite all the online communities to adopt GNRadio as a part of each one of us. I propose that, regardless the name, there should be one common radio to the different communities, working as a common place to all the fans. A common project, where we can grow what unites us and forget what divides us.

Imagine the potential of this tool, managed by people from all around the world, where there won?t be geographical limitations to the collection of news and interviews, where there are no time zones limitations or whatsoever.
Although this is a project where all the fans should be involved, firstly, I would appreciate if the administration of each community would embrace this idea, because it all depends on the incorporation of GNRadio on their webpages.
As for myself, I?m totally available to transmit all the know-how it requires to work and to participate in this project with whoever wants to.

Now, it?s up to the administrators to express their interest in this idea and talk about how to structure and share the responsibilities. And it?s up for the users to express their opinion and their willingness to be a part of this project as well.
If I wasn?t clear enough about something, I?ll be pleased to answer.

Last Saturday,  at least 413 fans around the world couldn't hear GN'R show (La Plata) through that local radio's website.

So, i streamed that radio's sound throught GNRadio tools.

So, thanks to GNRadio, 413 people had a happier night.

I think there are many people who (unfortunately) still underestimate the potential of this project. If some communities around the world could look at this project in another way, i'm sure that GNRadio could become even greater and a very usefull tool for many of us.

The beginning of this project is mainly in the hands of GN'R related sites webmasters ... but if you are a GN'R fan and an active member of any community of fans, your opinion and participation is critical to the success of this project.

Think about it and discuss ... ;)
