You're In The Jungle Toronto,You're Gonna Dieee

In a recent interview with Sp1at.com, VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum (ex-GUNS N' ROSES, THE CULT) was asked if VR had recorded any new material. He replied, "We actually just recorded a new song this week for an upcoming major motion picture release that you will be hearing about shortly."

When asked to compare vocalists Axl Rose, Ian Astbury and Scott Weiland, Matt said, "What they all have in common is a great ability to entertain a crowd. They each bring a different passion to the songs that they perform, and each one realizes that it is a rock show, not just a songfest. It's pretty amazing when I consider that I have been blessed to play drums behind three of the greatest frontmen of all time."

Matt also cast doubt on an end-of-year release date for VELVET REVOLVER's sophomore album. He said, "We are not going to have much studio time until September, now that we have added the Ozzfest dates."

As for the album if they start in september who knows when it will be.. As long as they keep playing live I don't mind if the album takes a month or two longer...

Let's say they go into the studio in October after a break from touring.

They didn't take too long with the last album.

Slash and Duff seem to enjoy working pretty quickly.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is out before the end of March 2006. peace

And I hope the new song is on the 'Batman Begins' soundtrack and gets the band a load more exposure. ok

According to Sp1at.com, a spokesperson for VELVET REVOLVER has confirmed that the band have recorded a new song for the "Fantastic Four" soundtrack. The film, which is about a group of astronauts who gain superpowers after exposure to cosmic radiation, is due for release in the U.S. on July 8.The spokesperson also confirmed that VELVET REVOLVER will be releasing a live DVD this summer, although the release date is still to be confirmed.

VELVET REVOLVER recently officially announced their participation in Ozzfest 2005. The quintet will play the final seven dates of the 26-city tour beginning on August 23, taking over IRON MAIDEN's slot on the Ozzfest mainstage.

VELVET REVOLVER were originally planning to do 10 Ozzfest shows, but the number was subsequently reduced.

Besides BLACK SABBATH and VELVET REVOLVER, other mainstage acts include MUDVAYNE, SHADOWS FALL, and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. The second stage will be headlined by Ozzfest veteran ROB ZOMBIE.

VELVET REVOLVER are currently on their own Electric Wonderland Show headlining tour.
