FINALLY doing laundry... wearing nothing but shoes and a long coat at rehearsal. My tech made me a belt for the coat. For their protection.

I'd say the tech knows better  Wink

See what I mean? Rehearsal... that gives us so many thoughts!
Alright, the nothing but shoes and long coats gives me thoughts too, but don't mention that to anyone!

Our go karting friend from the Dizzy board is out in LA.

Ron you reading?  He's an easy find.  You can not let this boy go back home without challenging him for the title of GNR's Go Kart champ.  I'll give you a little hint:  He's a professional go karter, you'll never beat him without a little help.  No, he'll drink you under the table too so you better get some damn hot groupies to distract him.

From the bumbleforum a years time ago:

'Just don't ever let me drink, seriously. Last time was with a whole bunch of GnR folks at a restaurant in NYC, I took a sip of something colorful at the bar, and hallucinted that I was a giant marshmallow. Jen said I was all freaked out, holding a big round chair up to my body. DO NOT EVER LET ME DRINK.'

Yeah I think Ron's out of the race and as far as the other contenders go:

I'm thinking no on Dizzy.  He's from the mountains, that means lower gears, speed will put you over the edge.  And he's been living out in LA, everybody knows what traffic is like out there, he'll be right on your bumper.

And of course Tommy don't drive.  Frank's from NY so he may not drive either, a car is just a pain in the ass out there.

Chris, head him west and there's nothing but open, boring road all the way to Colorado.  He can probably fly down that road but I'm not sure if he knows what to do on a corner--lol.

Richard is from St. Louis, speed limits don't apply here but we're all about letting someone else go through that speed trap first or last for easy pickings.  He'll be in the center of the pack.

Now DJ he's from Indiana, I'm betting he's driven some gravel roads.  I'm betting he can take a corner and come out on the gas.  This is where he'll pass the pack if he don't slide off the road.

I still think it's Ron who stands the best chance of taking him.  Not that I want to see the home board boy lose the title, I'll be cheering for leddy.

I really don't see the appeal for people to keep bumping a thread about a Bumblefoot appearance with a no-name COUNTRY singer, instead of rehearsing with his band which happens to have a fucking album out to tour and support. Enough is enough with those band members solo appearances and with who. One could really understand that before because of the CD release hold-up, but after that it is just sorta inexcusable. Axl really should think about how this affects the image of the band too. I mean playing with Jessica Simpson, a failed washup American Idol, or a COUNTRY star no one has heard of is honorable when you are in GN'R? Next thing you know, some of them start playing with Paris Hilton or Britney Spears (Rhianna is excused) and we are supposed to support that and pretend to be all excited?....To be honest as much as I never supported the "cancer" and his lies, playng with MJ was way cooler than this in the 90s.
Being in GN'R should really set some minimum standards on what you play, with who, and where you appear outside since you are already representing a brand name (because they all get conveniently billed as GN'R members at all these appearances), and it doesn't matter whether it's a charitable event or not. Please, stop embarassing the GN'R name.

I think the brand name pretty much stands for do whatever the fuck you want, when you want.  And if playing with people other folks don't think meet their "high standards", pretty much nailed the attituded needed for membership in this band.

Well, realise that the cancer also played with Insane Clown Posse...

And Robin Finck played guitar for the Cirque du Soleil...
And don't get me started on Brain and Buckethead ( spoken word album with Viggo Mortensen ? ) .

What do you expect the musicians to do in between tours ? Nothing at all ? or just play with bands like Motley Crue because this would be "acceptable" as far as the GNR image is concerned ?

Attitude
What you are saying is a complete madness. If really the goal of GN?R is to always do the opposite of what EVERYONE expects and that can involve low-class prostitution events, then how long do you think until the band is left with only a handful of blind worshipping fans? It is a losing business as it is right now and unless a tour or something else turns things around rather quickly, it would be very difficult to keep this band alive in its current form for very long. The difference that you apparently don?t see is that the old GN?R attitude while showing the finger to a portion of the public was at the same time fitting another large group of rebellious or misunderstood youngsters who bought millions of records and attended hundreds of shows. Who is the attitude of playing with American idols or country acts fitting? A few dozens such as yourself while alienating some of the already dwindling fan base? You wanna see how far this can go? I personally don?t since if you haven?t noticed it gets worse by the week. And if you truly care about this band you wouldn?t be so hung up on the selfish ?I have the album I am happy I don?t care about the public opinion and sales?.

Band members solo stuff
I did not object that altogether. In fact in the dark years of no tour or album release on the horizon I (and I suppose most GN?R fans) was very much for it since it was really the only way to keep some people in the band as they had to make a living and also give us fans some GN'R related bone. Solo albums and using the GN?R name to promote them I think were also ok (and I applaud Axl for his generosity on the matter) UNTIL the CD release. In that sense, I am probably a little annoyed by just the last acoustic BBF album and maybe SexTapes. But that?s ok. What for me is not ok are those silly appearances with pretty much everything GN?R has historically been against. And more importantly outrageously billing yourself as ?GN?R? on posters, websites and such, to promote those events, including encouraging posts on GN?R message boards for them. The latter would totally not make sense in the example of basically pushing GN?R fans to pay money and attend a country-related or idol-related event where a GN?R member just doesn?t fit. To put Brain or Richard into the same bucket is plain stupid since if they do anything remotely similar, they do not bill themselves as GN?R nor do they announce it to their GN?R fans. And Robin and Bucket have NEVER used the GN?R name for any public promotion to my knowledge. In fact they always make great efforts to avoid any such associations when working on non-GN?R stuff. Even Axl admitted recently that he might have been misled by Merck regarding Bucket?s intentions. History showed it so.

Rhianna
You really have to be clueless to not know the difference between her and the above mentioned other acts. She is a global sensation that is totally based on pure talent, kindness, generosity, and is a true role model in many aspects. And again, the GN?R involvement here is Richard, who has never billed himself as GN?R in her band, nor has he promoted his work there to GN?R fans.

Cancer
I really avoid talking and thinking about this individual and this has been the case for many years now. The only reason I mentioned him was because Axl had said in an interview that retrospectively he thought Slash?s involvement with MJ while still in GN?R was an embarrassment to the band. So, now how do you expect me to believe that Axl really is stoked about BBF?s involvement with the low-class acts mentioned especially via the GN?R name?

I really hope the time has come for everyone to fully focus and devote to GN?R. This has been a long and hard journey ? please, don?t let it slip away.

Who am I to give advice to the band or make demands?  I don't know what goes on or have taken a band to the top.  I think I just need to stick to cheering them on and riding out the tough spots.

Brain: And then one day I remember Axl calling me and saying, ?You know, if you want the gig you can have it, and you can still be on other stuff. You can still do Primus or whatever you want to do.?

people are enjoying the topic. if you don't like it, ignore the thread.

Its obvious that band members HAVE TO work in something else!...what would they do then?...u have to consider that making an album every 14 years and touring every 5 doesnt pay anybodys bills!....thats why u see in Ashba's myspace that he is still in SixxAm, I woudnt be surprise if Axl told Ashba, "You know, if u want the gig u can have it, and u can still do SixxAM or whatever......GNR is a part time job, SAD BUT TRUE.

me too

Who am I to give advice to the band or make demands?  I don't know what goes on or have taken a band to the top.  I think I just need to stick to cheering them on and riding out the tough spots.

I kinda like not to be the only one! I use to post bfoot updates here and i likeded it. But think it's time for me to post less or stop posting here. Even though support and promote bfoot is my life  hihi  (jk. I'm not that obsessed...

Seen his new g'tar? The doubleneck:

Keep it up angel. we want to hear about what band members are doing. Some people just love to attack the members or the fans but you shouldn't give a shit.

or just play with bands like Motley Crue because this would be "acceptable" as far as the GNR image is concerned ?

Na as far as i can gather it's more like the home ground. nothing sad about their doing other stuff. Lots of long living bands do that.
They get something new from outside and won't get slack.

and it has nothing to do with the image of some other band but really, instead of repeatedly barking up the wrong tree, you could have read it in context to see what I was actually saying.

It's not advisable that I twitter or do myspace, besides, personally, there's just not that much to me.   Cheesy

I'll quit having fun with Ron and try to be more serious.
