Some say the end is near......

« on: July 07, 2006, 06:22:59 PM »

Ive read a lot of shit about robin on the board, personally im a huge fan of the guy, he plays with great feeling and his stage presence is amazing.

Ive read a lot of people say he has improved a lot since the 02 tour, i for 1 believe that and respect the fact that he's probably put a lot of hard practice in from 02 - 06.

Im just curious to see how many people like/dislike him, simple yes or no and maybe a sentance explaining your answer............(i sound like a school teacher dont i lol)

Yes, with a copy paste of what i already said on another forum :

Robin has a lot more charisma than slash, he has a poetic presence ( makes sense to me) whereas slash was just some curls and a hat soloing for HOURS and getting as lost into his solos as he was into jack daniels.

I'm sorry to say Slash always bored the shit out of me and he was boring to watch.

So even if his " tzzoings" are the best in the world ( i am not qualified to speak, but compared to blackmore or paco de lucia, i can't see the hype ?), he was a BO RING.

Robin is endlessly watchable..He is this way..When he plays, people want to join him in his world.

He is love ( universally speaking).

I am not a Finck worshipper, but I guess I would have to say yes. His playing on The Blues is phenomenal, and he must be capable of doing something magical. Unfortunately, The Blues has been changed, and Finck doesn't get to shine as much on the new version. It is now more of a piano ballad. Lets hope other songs have not had a similar overhaul. His live work isn't very impressive, but thats a whole other dead horse topic in itself, and as long as he delivers the goods in the studio, that's all that matters.

Yes, without a doubt, yes. ? beer

If it wasn't for the brilliant guitar playing May12th at the Hammerstein, the stage-diving alone sealed the deal!!! ?The guy is fucking rock n' roll! ? ?

Yes

But I think Richard should handle most of Slashs solos.

Leave Finck to the new stuff.

Yes, BIG YES!  Robin is my favorite out of everyone in the band (minus axl)

He's a great guitarist, he does justice to all the old stuff, his new stuff is amazing, his stage presence is unmatched by any other guitarist.  If Robin left this project my interest in it would drop tremendously.

Yes.

I like Robin, and he has improved a lot, BUT I still don't think he is the best guitarist around.

Oh, and isn't he the one who wrote Better? Yay for Robin!  beer
