The best acustic guitars are the Martins but since you can?t spend more than 300 euros, well, I don?t know, maybie a Yamaha will do.

at this price range I'll agree with Slashly.
Yamahas are pretty neat guitars and reliable

Yeah, Yamaha I'd say.  One with a solid top.  If it's a laminated top it's not really worth it.

i'd have to disagree with slashy.  in my opinion, taylor makes the best acoustic guitar.  they just can't be beat.  martins are very, very nice though.  but don't go with a baby taylor.  they really only serve a good purpose for travelling or for a child's guitar.  they're cheaper than any other taylor, but if you want an acoustic with a good tone and feel don't go with the baby.

Taylor's neck joint is the best in the world, definitely, but their guitars seem too bright too me.  Ok for strumming and stuff, but flatpicked stuff sound a bit thin to me.

However, the genius of the neck joint might warrant me buying one if I ever had any more than ?10 in my bank account at a time.

Ovations are good. So are Martins but they're expensive.

Keep an eye out for a MATON - I know they aren't very readily available outside Australia but I've never played anything that equals them.

Peace out

I love Ovations, but the problem would be finding one in your price range.  You might be able to pick up a Trekker (mini) or a CC0264 Celebrity.  Both are decent, but nothing to write home about.

The problem is (and I know you're sorta forced into this method) you're never gonna know exactly what "feels" right until you play it....guitars are a very personal thing...much more personal than other instruments I've played.

ALL the other suggestions in this thread are good, too.

Hey Pilf, I never knew you played the guitar!!  All those late nights (well for me anyway) and you never said a word!  How long you been playing?

Miz,
? ?Jeesh, about 17-18 years now...I started around 13....though I didn't really start playing acoustic (learned on an electric) til I was in my late teens.

FYI, I'm a pretty good mimic...lousy musician though.
