Just got back from seeing VR at the Hammersmith Apollo.

Good show, biggest surprise was the fact that Mr Brownstone wasn't played.

Negative Creep was the last song, good for me since they did Bodies in Stockholm.  : ok:

Slash played some Led Zeppelin as an intro (for a friend who was in attendance according to him).

Saw Brian May as I was walking out.

Oh, and Ian from Nightrain fanzine and his friends (=my British fan club  ;) ).

Lucky you for getting to see May, did Brian look happy as if he enjoyed the show?

They may not have played Mr. Brownstone Jarmo, but they did play Spectacle which is a HUGE suprise...

they hardly ever play that...anyway its good that they have stopped playing some GnR tracks.

Very good show...loved every second of it...

THEY PLAYED SPECTACLE WOOOO!

Well, that's true. I guess I've gotten used to the idea from reading reviews, that at a certain point in the show they do Brownstone.  :-[

Brian May was sitting at the back of the venue and on my way out people were shouting Brian! Brian!, so he waved at us......

I saw Brian May on my way out too!  I also saw a white Limo pull up next to some fans over past Bar 38 about 20 mins after the concert , and the fans started taking pics of the people in the Limo with one of the windows down, then the door opened and they all got in the limo.  I don't know who was in the Limo, but that would have been cool if those fans got to meet the band.   Anyhow I was looking for my girlfriend who was lost, so I didn't see what happened next.  Cool concert though, I am bruised from some of the nutters at the front hehe.  Crowd went most nuts for It's So Easy it seemed, but Slither and Fall to pieces were really cool too.  Man, VR are such a REAL rock n fuckin roll band!  Still Buzzin now from the show!

Great show!
Knackered now though, I was in front of Slash the whole time, about 4 rows back.
Easy was the best song of the night, it sounded amazing.

The Tie Your Mother Down intro pissed me off though, i wanted to hear the whole thing!

i heard that brian may was there from this geezer on the underground after the show, he also said jimmy page was there but i aint heard no-one else saying this so i dont know if its true or not!?!...

i was right at the front man with a load of mates and we kept making slash laugh whenever he came over our side (left-front) duff cracked a couple of smiles at us too. i think it was all the "WE'RE NOT WORTHY" chants we were letting off. ha ha!!

It's only 100 euros from Sweden to London (the plane). Why shouldn't he go?

I paid 10 times that money to see GN'R back in 2002. I travelled from Greece to UK.

I hear you, buddy, especially as they then went into Negative Creep (which I am not fond of at all).

Actually, if you squinted a bit, Weiland could have passed for Mercury c.1978, with his leather gear and camp swagger (hold your fire, it's probably the highest compliment I can pay to a frontman).

Overall, a great show, with a few more surprises than I expected (E.g. the 'over the hills' intro, the extended keyboard/voicebox interlude during Illegal I).

I also spotted a couple of folks in HTGTH T-Shirts in the queue outside the venue, which was nice.

Mark my words. These t-shirts will be "collector's items" in 2-3 years... Especially the ones Jarmo sold for 2-3 months, cause I know many people who made their own...

Not that I'm being nosey or anything, but at what time was that picture taken? I was present at the singing yesterday  and I was standing near where that picture was taken (at the top of the stairs) for a long while.

Brian May has shared his thoughts on Thursday's gig on his 'soapbox'. He also says that, according to Slash himself, they could not play TYMD all the way through, as thier guitars were in the worng tuning. ...

It was taken at about eight o'clock, when they stopped signing and Matt jumped over the table and came to greet the fans before they left. I was standing upstairs just in front of the table

Hehehehe, I have pictures that prove that he was drunk at a place called The Intrepid Fox

Hi Jarmo, its your British fanclub here - also known as the weird blonde girl who kept staring at you manically ;D

The night was fantastic but meeting you really capped it off ;)

I had my reservations about Scot but seeing him in the flesh really put them to rest although he was't that sociable at the store signing but i think ive come to expect that from him!

Jarmo,
Oh no! After we came out of the signing, we deliberately walked around the line to try and see you, because your fans (one blonde young lady inparticular!? ;) ) wanted to meet you again! Your fans were most disappointed we couldn't find you.
Sorry we didn't hear you, guess our ears were still ringing from the night before!
It was cool hanging with you!
Ian

Maybe it was because we were standing next to the ticket place just outside the main entrance. Might have been hard to see us there.....

The security guard told us "move forward since there's empty space", so we did and skipped like ten places in the line.  :o

Then we got stuck behind that ticket place for what seemed like an eternity.  :hihi:
