Just got back from seeing VR at the Hammersmith Apollo.

Good show, biggest surprise was the fact that Mr Brownstone wasn't played.

Negative Creep was the last song, good for me since they did Bodies in Stockholm.  ok

Slash played some Led Zeppelin as an intro (for a friend who was in attendance according to him).

Saw Brian May as I was walking out.

Oh, and Ian from Nightrain fanzine and his friends (=my British fan club  Wink ).

Lucky you for getting to see May, did Brian look happy as if he enjoyed the show?

They may not have played Mr. Brownstone Jarmo, but they did play Spectacle which is a HUGE suprise...

they hardly ever play that...anyway its good that they have stopped playing some GnR tracks.

Very good show...loved every second of it...

THEY PLAYED SPECTACLE WOOOO!

Well, that's true. I guess I've gotten used to the idea from reading reviews, that at a certain point in the show they do Brownstone.  Embarrassed

Brian May was sitting at the back of the venue and on my way out people were shouting Brian! Brian!, so he waved at us......

I saw Brian May on my way out too!  I also saw a white Limo pull up next to some fans over past Bar 38 about 20 mins after the concert , and the fans started taking pics of the people in the Limo with one of the windows down, then the door opened and they all got in the limo.  I don't know who was in the Limo, but that would have been cool if those fans got to meet the band.   Anyhow I was looking for my girlfriend who was lost, so I didn't see what happened next.  Cool concert though, I am bruised from some of the nutters at the front hehe.  Crowd went most nuts for It's So Easy it seemed, but Slither and Fall to pieces were really cool too.  Man, VR are such a REAL rock n fuckin roll band!  Still Buzzin now from the show!

Great show!
Knackered now though, I was in front of Slash the whole time, about 4 rows back.
Easy was the best song of the night, it sounded amazing.

The Tie Your Mother Down intro pissed me off though, i wanted to hear the whole thing!

It's only 100 euros from Sweden to London (the plane). Why shouldn't he go?

I paid 10 times that money to see GN'R back in 2002. I travelled from Greece to UK.

I hear you, buddy, especially as they then went into Negative Creep (which I am not fond of at all).

Actually, if you squinted a bit, Weiland could have passed for Mercury c.1978, with his leather gear and camp swagger (hold your fire, it's probably the highest compliment I can pay to a frontman).

Overall, a great show, with a few more surprises than I expected (E.g. the 'over the hills' intro, the extended keyboard/voicebox interlude during Illegal I).

I also spotted a couple of folks in HTGTH T-Shirts in the queue outside the venue, which was nice.

Mark my words. These t-shirts will be "collector's items" in 2-3 years... Especially the ones Jarmo sold for 2-3 months, cause I know many people who made their own...
