Waiting for Promised Land....

« Reply #260 on: April 04, 2008, 06:29:10 PM »

I'm yet to be convinced that the writer actually heard these things from the execs  Roll Eyes
and that this gossip has to be discussed in two threads.

He quoted one exec directly.  How else is he to prove he heard those things?

I don't think it's pure gossip when he has an actual source who heard the songs being played.  It'd be one thing if he heard from someone who heard from someone, etc., but that isn't the case here.

and what's the name of the exec?

For obvious reasons, that cant be stated , as then he will be hassled by email etc by every gnr fan to find out more about chinese democracy,
such as the 6 songs they heard, etc....

what's the name of the writer?

dont know, not really important though..

Exactly!  There is a very plausible and understandable reason why the exec wouldn't want to go on record.

The writer's name and picture are at the top of the E! Online article page.  His name is Marc Malkin.

Guys, calm down...

First of all, when someone is expecting a "trainwreck" and he finds the music contemporary and not dated, it's FUCKIN' GOOD!!!

Second, it's E!online, why would they post such a thing about Guns N' Roses in 2008 if it isn't true?

The wheels are turning...

It's just not the weekend if the GNR fan base isn't banging on your door.  That's two in a row for new management.  Welcome to camp guys!  You might want to give that Tommy cd another listen--lol.  And buy the large size bottle of asprin.

Of the E! Online planet gossip. Jimmy iovine didn't seem to mind the said hassles in 2006.

Yes I believe a free can of dr pepper in the us and Chinese democracy in 2008. because axl is trying to make it happen.
Yep execs must have heard the album and loved it.
Nothing new.

Like the word recently, how recent it is?

I've seen NYT carry sloppy article.
I'd take a sourceless story with a grain of salt. This is not from GNR camp, Mysteron or my friends.
