Well, in my opinion a reunion still doesn't make sense, I mean if he releases Chinese Democracy and then a re-union happens, it's going to be funny to see them playing 9 old songs and 9 new ones the new incarnation made. However, if Axl hasn't released C.D by next year and is still playing setlists 3/4 full of old songs... then yeah, a reunion makes sense. :peace:

A) Axl bomb isn't the most reliable person in the world.

Good post, and I pretty much agree with it, but I will go out on an even bigger limb. If AFD is still dominating the setlist for the Euro tour, then its time to call Izzy, Slash, Duff, and Steven/Matt. Riding on AFD cruise control when you have been working on a trilogy for almost a decade is ridiculous. Like I said in another thread, if they're gonna do 85% old stuff, just bring back the old guys.

Dont think there is much chance of a reunion. But if there was there'd be no way Axl would want Steven back. Doesnt Axl totally hate him? If there was to be an "original" drummer itd be Matt.

However, as fucked up a person as he is, I still think he was an excellent drummer. Dont know what hes like lately - havent been following Adler's Appetite.

Whenever a reunion is mentioned, it's talked about as something permanent. I highly doubt this would be the case. I think a reunion, in GN'R's case would be comprised of a series of live concerts (or maybe only just a couple of shows in big cities) and then that's it, because even though money might be able to motivate you to rehearse some pre-existing songs and play them live a few times, it's not going to buy you the chemistry you need to work together full time again. If the original GN'R got back together again, it would probably just be a ticking bomb.

But I'm not betting my money on a reunion any time soon, and frankly, at this point, I wouldn't want one.

Yeah Adam Bomb was right there fucked up alongside of Adler.......very unreliable source. ?Just doing it for publicity I would say.

I don't think they'd ever do a reunion tour with seemingly so close to being released.

I could see a reunion SHOW (or maybe 3-4 shows or something) but not a full blown out tour.  Just not now at least.

I was thinking after GnR release CD and VR release their second albums and do their respective tours; than maybe there will be a reunion of some sorts

... yeah, well I wish it was as easy as "just" bringing them back...

in live era axl putt steven as part of guns n roses remeber that and i saw steven last year and he fukin rocks it was incredible so i may try bring all the original guys and make and album over chinese democracy a hundred times listen to the new songs they are radio friendly they are no mr brownstone.,.,it isnt rock n roll they dont have the magic

I just think if they're gonna play all this old stuff constantly, why not just get the guys who really did it? New GNR has been around since the late 90's and been working on three albums. Its time for GNR to start living in the present and tour on all this earth shattering stuff they have locked in the vaults.When Tommy talked about earth shattering material,  hopefully he wasn't referring to AFD and a couple of songs from Lies and UYI. :hihi:

I used to think a little about a reunion, however, after seeing opening night on the 12th...it is a long way off IMO.
Axl looked rejuvenated and really in love with this new band...the fact that he made 4 shows (on time) for the most part, and then has been out with his band nearly every night hanging out....I am really starting to believe CD is right around the corner and AXL is going to do something GREAT for the next 3-5 years...maybe in 6+ years we can see a reunion.

Seriously, if these past shows, and acoustic show and all the press wasn't happening I'd believe it but this is truly the first time since the new band that I feel people are really taking them seriously. Look at Axl now as compared to 2002, he's almost a totally different person. I'm not saying he didn't believe in the band before but something is definitely different about them this time around.

The desire to perform is prob there. Maybe he is finally happy with CD and is ready to take the world on.

he seems to have more confidence in the material and the band itself.....it seemed like he wasn't sure of the new material (Rhiad, OMG, Silkworms, CD vs Better IRS TWAT Maddy and The Blues) or the band (looks / image wise back in 2002....just my opinion...

I'll go one step further.   I don't think I've seen Axl this happy on stage ever.  He and the rest of the band were genuinely enjoying the hell outta themselves at the Hammerstein.  Axl was smiling the whole time.

fuck a reunion.  Theres no point in getting rid of this great band and the amazing songs they are giving us.  I wouldn't trade "Better" or "The Blues" for some nostalgic bullshit reunion.

Agreed.  Given a choice - and I say this after seeing one of the Hammerstein shows - I'd rather see the current GnR than a reunion any day.

he can still play drums well from what i've read of reviews, but since he started his own band he became an ego manic, you said 1 thing against him you were sacked.

He could play all the songs again, but if he still is struggling with drug abuse and over-flowing ego, then he won't make it.

Hmm seems strange i really don't think that adler is capable of playing in a GnR reunion he's in a very sorry state. He can still play though from the vids, etc. ive seen. But if they did re-unite i geuss they'd play a few shows then put it on ice again for a while axl renamed the band and released "Chinese Democracy" and VR did their follow-up record (cause id hate for either project not to see the light of day).

But if adler did come back does that mean they'd play all the uyi stuff with him as well? Adler playing "You could be mine" - now that could be erm interesting. I was always under the impression that Sorum would be the one that re-join the band. Also doesn't izzy hate playing arena's?? I can't see GnR touring hammerstien size venue's on a reunion tour.

If a reunion did happen, id want to see this current band being re-named and carrying on as like a side/down-time thing from Guns n' Roses!

the old band sold because the world took notice, even if the new band sells (which they will) it's going to also be because of the huge following that already exists.. So you could take tommy robin dizzy and brain and switch them next week, then release the album and it would still do the same because of the old fans and the primary focus is gnr and axl rose..

How much sales are because of how good the music is is different then how many sales from what the name is and axl rose the media that flocks around him..


Just for the band's sake to see on their own how they would have done a new name would have revealed everything,... Not in anyone's shadows, just a band trying to make it...

if your not happy with the nu-guns then please feel free to leave the forum.. i prefer the old guns cos i grew up with the music but i still support the band.

It's possible because the Slash/Duff vs. Axl case has been dismissed, so the people who said "there are suing each other and you still think there's going to be a reunion?" have less arguments now. :)

I agree completely, a reunion would likely be a few ad hoc shows. And more and more, perhaps a reunion is not even desired.

i bet their are millions of Gnr fans that don't use internet boards, if u went to some of these people and asked to name members of the band, they would say slash, axl etc, just cause 90% of this board is behind the new band doesn't mean every GnR fan!

For me it was also because of the very heavy set of old material.... if some were happy the way it is then cool, , it just wasn't my thing hearing so many old tunes without the guys involved in the making of them.. When I heard better I looked at it as a new guns song, I wasn't looking for old members... Just when (I) hear scom, wttj, nr, I have a picture of what way it should be..

Can people at least admit that if the band changed entirely but axl then 4 more dates were at the hammerstein for next month they would all sell out regardless?


trust me there are I meet people all the time and talk rock, many are clueless but were once gnr fans.. or they say oh is gnr now just axl?? Gnr fans like 30 or over don't follow this like the bible ,sure many know the band broke up, but they also don't acept what is going on.. They say how cna it be guns without the members, how can it be guns with only axl..  I mean isn't it like that with fans of any band??

My biggest bitch about a possible Guns N' Roses reunion would be that MTV or VH1 go and take Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Matt and create some kind of reality TV show based around their attempts to provide cohesion to keep the band together... because you know something fucked up like this would happen.

Also... We do not need a Guns N' Roses version of Metallica's 'rock-umentary' Some Kind Of Monster... although it would be nice to see the personal side of the classic Guns N' Roses line-up, I think it would do more to drive them apart than to keep them together.

Just want to share with you guys that I met adler at one of his very first concerts before shit hit the fan in Valencia, Spain. In fact, i got back stage with him and the other guys, sheldon tarsha, Chip Z Nuff....  I don?t deny that he?s obviously fucked up from drugs but I will tell you he was actually an extremely nice guy, really cool and pleasant with everyone there.
During the time I was there with him, 10 minutes or so, he just smoked the odd joint and drank a coke, nothing else.
I think no matter how much Adam Bomb proclaims his innocence as per the metal sludge interview what fucked adler?s tour up recently was adam bomb, a worthless bum who sent adler downhill again, I would bet money on it. I don?t deny that Bomb is probably much better at handling money than adler but he?s also a bum and a manipulator. I think Adler?s situation is probably not the best at the moment. It?s sad cause it seemed he had his shit together one and for all.
Just wanted to let you guys know that Sorum will never have the style or rythim adler had back in the day. He managed to play really well but obviously not like before, but still did a good job. His singer Sheldon Tarsha has a great voice.

^ I really liked steve, he was part of that 80's strip scene that was tons of drug use.. I knind of feel for him too, no one was a saint in gnr back then.. As said he couldn't leave his drugs, well not eevry drug addict can, must had been something biggest band int eh world shit must had been flying in his lap by eevryone.. I couldn't imagine if he was very addicted how it was possible to just quit with all the access he had..

Not entirely on topic I know, but Im sure Izzy was very proud of Gn'R and Axl May 17th...

It was probably very moving for him to see the amount of devotion and dedication from us diehard fans to Axl & the Gn'R namesake after all these years in person...

Im sure he viewed the new band as a bit of a cover band, when it came to playing the classics, but he couldnt very well deny from one musician to another, that the new guys cant play the fuck out of the old songs ;)

I just wish he would give comment on what he thinks of Axl's new material, and if he still views the man as the same lyrical genious he was 86-91 :peace:
