I interviewed Jimmy Ashhurst for my site. He mentions Izzy a lot so any Izzy fans here might like to check it out. Even if youre not an Izzy fan you should read it. Jimmy has had an interesting life and worked with some amazing musicians.

If anyone wants to post it on other forums/boards then please credit www.izzy.34sp.com

Cheers, hope you all enjoy.

well...it wasnt what I was expecting.

"I just don't know if the issues that Izzy and I have with each other will ever be resolved.  In order to make up with someone you have to first be able to speak to them, and to do that you need to first know where the hell they are.  Guys like that can be hard to deal with.  They just don't need you.  He can go on and do whatever it is he's doing just fine without me, and he doesn't seem to realize that sometimes a certain group of individuals, when working together, can create something that's irreplaceable...that can't be done on your own.  He's got the money, and obviously doesn't see what so many people who love him do, and there's nobody in his life who will risk their friendship with him by telling him the truth.  He's always been surrounded by "yes" people, and whenever someone pops up with a dissenting opinion, he can just disappear and replace that person with someone who's more agreeable."

Izzy is just frustrating as Axl now, isnt he?    Undecided

anyway, I wish him the best with the Buckcherry album.  He sounds like a cool guy.

The similarities between Izzy and Axl are definitely eery. If those two could kiss and make up one day, I'm sure it would do them both a lot of good. Just from a personal point of view, even if they don't ever make music together again.

Personally I don't think it's that bad with Izzy, nobody else has said something like this about him, not his other bandmates.

If you believe this interview he surrounds himself with "yes men". Does that sound familiar?

I agree with Pandora. If Jimmy's telling the truth, then maybe the two guys from Indiana have more in common than you might think.

Yes it sounds familiar and I don't like it! Wink Grin

I think Jimmy's telling the truth, I think he sees is this way, but I have a hard time imagening this, cause Izzy even mentioned this in a 2001 interview where he was asked about why Axl became a "control freak" and ego maniac. He said that he was surrounded by "yes man" who'd agree with him all the time. He also said btw that succes did made them loos their heads a little bit, including himself.

That's the way it is... Jimmy is telin the truth but by his own way, from his point of the view. I wonder what Rick and Chalo would say about it...
Ju Ju Hounds broke cause... Izzy went for cigarettes and... never came back? Roll Eyes and I'm sure the reason was that they had some big talk bout band if it's solo project or real band of 4 guys...

That's so strange.  It's almost as weird as buying a Neon Mobil Horse  hihi... Undecided

We really need to hear Izzy's side of the story about the breakup of the Juju Hounds, too.

When they were recording the album in Trinidad and Tobago, there had to be some troubles between the bandmates:
"I went back to Indiana. At that point I was absolutely fed up with the whole music thing. I was just bored. I had to do something else. So I went over to Madrid and started looking for a place."[/i]

Hey Chief, the whole Ju Ju Hounds break-up is something a lot of fans, including myself want more information on. Jimmy has been kind enough to give us his side of the story in this interview but it is something I have never dared to ask Izzy myself  Undecided It was 12 years ago but it still might be a touchy subject  Cry

Izzy has said in past interviews Ive read that he just got fed up with the 'band thing' and went off. Charlie (Ju Ju drummer) said Izzy went to buy some cigarettes one day and never came back. Jimmy said he doesn't know what happened but there was nothing he could do to prevent it. I point the blame at Izzy but I respect his decision. If he didnt want to do it anymore he didnt have to.

Jimmy and Rick have both said a re-union would be cool but neither of them think it will ever happen. Maybe one day Izzy might decide to get the group back together - who knows?  Smiley

The Ju Ju Hounds were a great band. I first heard about them on Mtv not long after Izzy left Guns. They showed this real quick clip of them playing in the studio, and I remember being all excited about it because it sounded so cool.

I actually caught the Shuffle It All video randomly one afternoon on Mtv when the album came out, and ran out to get the album that day. I still listen to it all the time. To me its Izzy's finest work.

Izzy is "THE ARTIST" in Guns N' Roses, of all the guys, he honestly gives a damn, about money, popularity or anything else, He started the vision of musical development, because remember he left the band in its best time, but he didnt care about nothing else but his vision, maybe, even more original in that aspect and less praised than Axl is....

Izzy Rules....
