Guns N' Roses to Headline Sunday Night Yasalam After-Race Concert at 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Yas Marina Circuit and FLASH Entertainment have today revealed the next global music superstars to perform at this year's Yasalam After-Race Concert as part of the FORMULA 1 2018 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX weekend.

American rock legends Guns N' Roses will headline the Yasalam After-Race Concert at the du Arena, Yas Island, on Sunday 25 November.



One of rock music's greatest ever bands, the addition of Guns N' Roses is sure to be a huge hit with the crowds of race-goers who travel to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from more than 170 countries worldwide.

Rock music lovers in Abu Dhabi can expect to see original members Axl, Slash, and Duff perform the full Guns N' Roses back catalogue of hits including 'Welcome to the Jungle', 'Sweet Child o' Mine' and 'Paradise City'.

Axl Rose's distinctive vocals, Slash's splendid guitar riffs and Duff McKagan on bass remain at the core of the Guns N' Roses sound which will fill the du Arena.

Guns N' Roses, who have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, have been performing to sold out stadiums around the globe in recent years, which means fans who travel to the du Arena can expect to see an amazing performance by the legendary rock act.

BUT, not with concerts in Dubai.  They just laid out a SHIT ton of money to WWE to get a show out there.  Reportedly it was like 100 million IN ADDITION to the box office and merch split.  Just to make an offer they couldn't say no to.

I could totally see a similar offer going out to GnR, that basically makes it a no brainer for them, and their crew, to do a one off.

The Saudis are paying 1.2 BILLION over the next 14 years to F1, in order to host races in Abu Dhabi.

So even if "F1" is paying....the Saudis (and Bahrain, who is contributing another 1 billion over the same time frame) are paying, so to speak.

They are all in on the Vision2030 investment!!!

Funny thing is, we all knew that if the Slash and Duff re-united with Axl, that it would be HUGE!
It still blows my mind how fucking big this tour is WITHOUT ANY singles, new albums, videos, Rolling Stone covers, steady interviews, etc.
Their legacy and music alone are simply one of the biggest and greatest acts of ALL TIME. I love how even the Axl haters can't deny the facts

It's kinda hard to tell since he's only announced one (?) show so far?

Axl did GN'R and AC/DC in 2016. I'm sure Slash can do GN'R and his solo shows later this year....

He's only got a couple lined up at present, in Sept and Oct. The general opinion was that more would be added, and he'd be touring for the next couple of years on and off with SMKC.

Still entirely possible of course, if this show is a one-off, or part of a few select dates. If it's a big tour, then who knows?
