All I got, is precious time...

My take on this is that it's definitely a spliced vocal that wasn't edited properly. I'll take Axl's word that it was intentional, but I don't think he meant that they did it on purpose, simply that they knew it was there and decided to leave it in the song (therefore, it is not a manufacturing defect). Bands leave mistakes in songs all the time. Sure it's possible they did this on purpose, but I can't imagine why.

Doesn't matter, I'm digging that song (Scraped) more and more every day.

you people are stupid, its not a skip, this little ''copypaste sound" is all over the song. It sounds cool and it is intentional.

Maybe it's a code that Axl is trying to tell us.
1:19
Maybe when sales of C.D. hits 1,190,00.00 he's going to do an interview on one of the late shows.  Grin

Or 1:19 is really 9-11....... Roll Eyes

Or one nineteen means Axl is one and it took 19 other people to help him with Chinese Democracy......... rofl

One more time, with feeling........

Per Axl:

The song sounds like it should sound.

The skip you hear is intentional. It's not a defect.

You know, after listening to the song a few times I don't think it's a defect either, despite what others might think. If you listen to the song, you'll hear the same elements of this "skip" at different parts of the song, but I think it's just more noticeable at that one spot. For example, in the first "don't try to stop us now" there's a bit of this influence right before "now." Also the 37 second mark, and many other parts as well.

I agree that it sounds unintentional.  It's easier to say it was purposely done after the fact without giving an explanation than it is to admit such a goofy error went unnoticed in amidst of so many years of fine-toothed combing.

Either way though, it doesn't affect the song in any way for me.

i do think it sounds better that way, fits with the personality of the song itself, as if axl is interupting himself

It's kind of like that NIN song "Discipline". Where Trent actually disciplines himself in the song (i.e., he starts too early on a couple of the versus and holds himself back after realizing he's made a mistake).

I think Axl should come on out and do a little chat on the album, what the songs mean, why there's things in like this in there, etc. Would be pretty cool to hear his take on it and the meaning behind some of the songs, the production, people involved, stories, etc.

It's an effect.  It happens on the word "life's".  The line is "Sometimes I feel like my life life's a catastrophe".  Don't you get it. confused  Life's a catastrophe.  The skip effect is put in to emphasize the fact that the singer goes though periods where nothing seems to work out for him.  That's the first thing I thought when hearing it for the fist time.  Not a defect.  Roll Eyes

If such small "glitch" like that is intentional then I dont know what went wrong with the whole "booklet' dilemma,
but im glad for it in a way so I can hear the different overdubs that I wouldn't hear with just a normal listen.  peace

What part of this don't you understand?
