Title: Helloween
Post by: plasmabeam on February 26, 2006, 12:38:05 PM
Anyone around here like them? They're one of my favorite bands, behind GN'R and Iron Maiden. I'm more of a fan of Deris than Kiske on vocals, and I think they've only gotten better since Deris joined the group. Their best album in my opinion is Better Than Raw, but it's a close race, considering that Hello has a lot of great stuff. Your thoughts?

Awesome Band! Only got into them recently i'm still busy getting their albums...

...Keeper of the Seven Keys The Legacy is great track for track.  They seem to release albums that feel like a full story, not just individual songs, really good stuff : ok:

Wooa I can see theres no too much pumkin heads on the board, Im a great fan of Helloween since 95, I also like better Deris voice than Kiske's yet i think the legacy Michi left was great, my fave album is Master of The Rings, which was my first album i bought from them.
I jut bought Keeper 3 and i gotta say its very good but is not a keeper sound and i gues what Weiki want is too aproach to a new kinda of sound, cause the Dark Ride was the last album that was very dark and then came rabbits and it was very happy and melodic not like Dark  : ok:

I haven't been able to find KotSK: The Legacy yet.  It's a shame that they're not too popular here in America.

I've always loved them and I've seen them live 3 times, BUT I've totally lost interest in them these last years.

All new members has just ruined it for me and I really don't like anything after Better Than Raw (which is excellent). The Dark Ride has some songs that are OK, but they just don't do it for me anymore...unfortunately.

Used to listen to Master of the Rings and Time of the Oath all the time about 10 years ago... those two are brilliant albums, especially MotR. Never really got into the older stuff, though Halloween is a great track.

Well yeah, The new members tend to bring new stuff and not the old sound of helloween but I really think that Gropow wasnt too involved in the last album, I think Uli was a great lost, but listening Keeper 3 is promising, Sacha did a great job specially in Invisible man and Pleasure drone and Dani is ok, I only hope he can be a good replacement for Uli wich also made great songs like A million to one and Mr. Torture  : ok:

I love the 90's period with great albums like Pink Bubbles go Ape, Master of the Rings, Time of the Oath and Better than Raw!!
I like Darkride also, the older stuff is either amazing or horrible. =)

Me?

Those (rabbits and legacy) are kinda weak but I dig them ok. Im talking bout the 80's period, I know there are some amazing songs like keeper and helloween and future world and so on and so forth but the 1st  cd and some filler stuff to me is horrible thats all  :D

Well about the 1st album, yes they have some fillers, me personally I think ride the sky and phantoms of death and guardians are fillers, but for helloween fans which I am people like those songs, I personally think that the first album was bad produced, and couldn't get to know the escense of the band, they got a new Master colletion with Helloween CD remaster, so I check it out and it sound way lot better than the original, I think the diference is the production.
The least album I like is chameleon cause is quite a solo album from each one of them, which in last febrary interview Weiki and Markus told.

Walls of Jericho is their best album, and Ride the Sky owns you.

Hehehe yes I understand most hardcore helloween fans love the early stuff, I agree with better production some of the old stuff (Walls of Jericho) would be better.
I agree chameleon is the weakest.

I think ride the sky is quite boring, and personaly i think is not the best from Jericho album.
There are classics that I would like to hear like murderer, victim of fate, judas and Heavy Metal is the Law.
Even though for me the best album easily is Better than Raw, I think with Jericho Helloween open a new ground of music and influenced a lot to modern Power Metal and Speed Metal.

Anyway listen to this  ;)

Many fans still miss him. Michael Kiske once was the energetic frontman of Helloween with the unique voice. Now he?s preparing to record an accousting versions of all the beloved classics.

Ex-Helloween singer Michael Kiske has announced that he will rearrange and re-record all of the songs that he wrote with his former band for an upcoming CD, to be released next year through Frontiers Records.

Commented Kiske: "Since I always need a bit of time to get another (good) record written. I talk with Frontiers Records right now about a full acoustic CD with all my old Helloween songs re-arranged. Serafino (owner of Frontiers Records) had this idea and I like it very much. But we are still sorting the deal out. I think this is a very good thing to do, because it shows people how those songs can also sound. And I still like most of them. But it will be very different!"

Michael Kiske's latest solo album, simply entitled "Kiske", was released in May via Frontiers Records.

Now there are sample for all the songs which I think Kill it is just
I just listen to the new album and it's very very good, very fast very speed and the good thing is that Markus has a song and it's one of the best, the bad thing is that Weiki didn't have much writting but the 2 songs he made are just great.

Yeah i know, it's one of my faves on that album, is made by Markus and I gotta say it's the first time they put a Markus song in an album and all markus songs are B-side but sometimes they are better.

"News for new album 2013

Weikath: ?STRAIGHT OUT OF HELL is the consequent development of the two albums before. The new songs are a continuation of the ?7 Sinners? directives, only less doom-bound and noticeably more positive. These songs will kick even the laziest listener?s ass.? The best example of HELLOWEEN?s ability to think outside the box of metal clich? is the first single from STRAIGHT OUT OF HELL: ?Nabataea?. The legendary kingdom and its secret capital Petra ? hidden behind cliff scenery and only discovered at the beginning of the 20th century ? are the origin of many myths and legends. ?Nabataea? is the perfect shape of great music to come and will deliver an epic video clip, yet to be shot. Apart from the standard album, there will be a limited edition featuring premium packaging and two bonus tracks: ?Another Shot of Life? and a Hammond version of ?Burning Sun? in memory of Deep Purple?s recently deceased organ player Jon Lord.

Hello friends, long time no see.
Well fresh news about Helloween

German metal veterans confirm they?ll launch album no.14 in June
Helloween have announced they'll release their 14th album, My God-Given Right, in June.

The follow-up to 2013?s _Straight Out Of Hell _carries 3D lenticular artwork by Martin Hausler, who took inspiration from Hollywood blockbuster Day After Tomorrow.

Frontman Andi Deris says: ?I never know how, but somehow we did it once again. The album really rocks and kicks some major asses. We had the best folks with us to make this possible ? producer Charlie Bauerfeind, and Martin Hausler, who made a massive artwork without stressing the whole colour range.?

Guitarist Michael Weikath adds: ?This proves what a bit of snow not only is able to do, but really causes. I personally hate snow and the cover shows that too much of everything is never good. I?m very happy with the new album.?

My God-Given right appears on June 1 via Nuclear Blast. It's available to pre-order in a variety of packages.

Also Helloween said it will be friendly. I don't know how friendly can it be, but lets hope is a good one as Straight was

Helloween say their upcoming album My God-Given Right has a ?friendly? feel and takes elements from their 80s? era.

The record will be released on June 1 after the band inked a new deal with Nuclear Blast ? the label who issued 2000?s The Dark Ride and 2003?s Rabbit Don?t Come Easy.

And guitarist and founding member Michael Weikath says they didn?t spend too much time coming up with a concept for the album, deciding instead to concentrate on the music with producer Charlie Bauerfeind.

Speaking of their 14th album, he tells Rock Overdose: ?It's more open to the public. I wouldn't say commercial, it's more friendly. That was also what Charlie wanted to do ? it's typical of '80s Helloween and modern Helloween at the same time.

"We didn't want to worry too much about concepts and what to do ? we just wanted to do what we stand for, what we're known for. And that works out very good.?

The follow-up to 2013?s Straight Out Of Hell is currently available to pre-order in a variety of packages.
