What I love most about this band is that it seems like the egos are checked at the door.  DJ, Ron, and Richard all do great and play their roles well.  Seem like a great group of guys.

You're right man... DJ is standing out a bit above the others right now but it's a very different thing. He's working the crowd. He's the image of GnR now. The man's got some charisma! But he standing out has nothing to do with ego. Really, they all seem completely leveled and none of them are fighting to outshine each other. Even Axl seems to have left the ego at the venue's entrance. Can you picture the big man not ranting, throwing away the mic, blaming the crew for the audio flaws, but apologizing for his vocals instead? And have you noticed how in TWAT, the clip from Korea, Tommy seems to stand by Axl while he's struggling to find where to sing? This is what I call a band! I'm very fucking proud of GnR right now.

" Axl while he's struggling to find where to sing?" I must have missed this, please explain.

Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0U-bVJzRAw

1:45 minutes into the video, Tommy goes with Axl to the catwalk like supporting him. At least that's the impression that I get.

You're right, it seems Tommy goes up to Axl and gives him the right key (probably yelling/singing it to him). It happens. I've been there.

Not playing-wise, in that case Ron's superfluid playing is the absolute pinnacle of skill and taste (as always) ...

Agree, Ron is fucking bringing it for sure!  All the guitar players are great, but Ron is on another level.
