Why did the popular "songs you think people should DL" thread get locked?

Just curious.

There's gonna be a new one which is gonna be a bit more interesting and not just a post count booster.

There'll be a new one along soon.

The purpose of the last thread was to promote unknown bands, and we're taking measures in the new one to ensure that this happens.

It may not be as popular, but at least we'll get rid of the people who are using it to boost their post counts.

It's good to see this happening.

I'd also like to say that, the Jungle is the best it has been in over a year now. There seems to be some intelligent conversations recently (apart from me and the Diz) and long may it continue. I may not have to tell Jarmo to ban any of you this month.

I never knew that it was supposed to be for more unknown bands, so excuse my ignorance on that. But say for instance if it is a solo work of an artist that used to be big, would that be ok? Like when I listed Roland Orzabal? I love that album because it is trance, trip hop, and nobody has ever heard of it. I love turning people on to it. But would it be considered too established an artist then?  Huh

If it's popular, it'll stay there.
