I want a Stadium Tour! Come on Axl, let's do something huge before retiring.
A STADIUM WORLD TOUR

come on!

Is there such a thing as 8,000 seat stadiums?  If so, then its sure to be a sell-out tour.

I appreciate Tommy attempting to give news, but I would have been just as good without it.  Also, I suggest that the title of this thread be modified a bit so as to not give anyone false hopes...I was expecting at least a month coming into this thread.  Sad

u never fail booker....

what part of no album, no singles, no video do u not understand? When are you going to realize that all of the above has a huge impact on a fanbase, or potential fanbase. Till then i guess you can continue to cream your pants over your little theory....milkboy, save us milkboy

And then they call themselves impartial... and say everyone else is a sucker for Axl Rose.

I think this quote is from last year...

If that's true, it's even worse.  Because if Tommy said "sooner rather than later" LAST YEAR, then he appears even more clueless than he would if he'd said it recently.

I love this, we now have a new catch phrase to rival "I don't know if soon is the word.."
"It'll come out sooner than later." hihi

Indeed.   Cheesy

Stinson plans to hit the road to support the new set, with New York rockers the Figgs serving as his backing band. Stinson says the tour will run "throughout the next year or so, as long as they can stand it."

Does he mean 2004 or '05?   Sounds like a long tour either way.

He looks cool in the photo.

Isn't anyone else here just tired of this bs.  Lets be realistic here people.  First of all I was at all the Vegas shows and back then we all thought it was coming out.  4 years later and nothing yet.  And on top of everything else Bucket left that can no way speed up the album.  Also the lawsuit going on now will only take more of Axls time and this lawsuit could go on forever if they don't work something out before going to court.  Whoever loses this case will just appeal it and have another court case.  I'm really starting to think that this album will never be released.  Seriously people think about it.  Theirs no way its coming out this year.  Anyone want to bet?

What theory is that?

Im just pointing out that its a little silly to talk about stadiums when the band struggled and failed to fill arenas.  If and when Chinese Democracy explodes and puts GNR at the top again, then we can bring up stadiums...

There's a callous on my brain where there used be the ability to get excited about these nothing comments from Tommy, Dizzy, et al regarding GNR and "the album". Over the last three years we must have gotten at 25-50 (between fan accounts at shows, asides in magazine interviews, and even Axl's own pronouncements at shows) of these cryptic statements, vaguely indicating that a release announcement is just around the corner.

"All I can say right now is the record is going to come out sometime sooner than later"

Sometime sooner than later? What the hell does that mean? Seems like he jumbled his words there. Which one I don't know, but I think he was either saying:

  1) "Sometime sooner or later"- This is what I think he meant. I would take this as I have no fucking idea when it's coming, but it will come. May not be anytime in the next year or two, but it will come before the end of time.

  2) "Sometime sooner rather than later"- I doubt this is what he wanted to say, but this would mean CD will be here soon. Wishful thinking I know.

I think it's pretty clear that the reason we're not getting ANY information from anyone is because they don't want the most anticipated album of all time (YES it is!!!) to be out on the Internet before the release date. This is really the only reason that would make any sense. The album will be out sooner than you think. I believe we'll have two week's notice before it hits the shelves. The single will be the 2 week notice.

Stinson has no clue. And the b.s is annoying and makes him look bad. It sounds like he hasn't talked to axl in awhile. And if he hasn't and he's going on a long tour is he just gonna stop that tour if axl calls?

it sounds like his solo project is his main project now, when he makes statements like that it seems that he is saying that he really doesn't expect anything to happen with gn'r.

We've heard tommy claim June of 03 and a bunch of other dates, we've also heard him say that they just needed to finish mixing and the record would be done, that was way over a year ago. I'm thinking the only way we will ever hear CD is if an insider steals a couple of tracks and posts them on the internet. Maybe we can all chip in some cash and offer a reward to anyone who can come up with the goods. Because that may be the only way we ever hear this thing.

I agree with  a lot of people on the board, I'm not understanding these ambiguous statements. At one time it was funny almost cute, but now it's just belittling, it's as if were children being told by our parents to keep waiting for the toy we want as long as we stay quiet and do good in school. Whatever happened to a release date, promotion, video, release then tour.  I think I've lost complete hope, and for some reason I feel even when the album comes out (if ever) WE or maybe just me will be so disappointed at the actions or lack of actions the past few years it wont matter. I just picture everyone saying "ten years for this ?"

Booker, that would be 8600 capacity stadiums! Grin I can't believe you guys have the gall to get mad at Tommy because HE CAN'T FUCKING SAY ANYTHING-he probably violated his contract by saying what he said. Leave the guy alone and blame the person who made him sign the contract!!!!! Tommy has stuck with this incredibly frustrating project longer than anybody. Blame Axl or Canada or Booker Grin but, please don't blame Tommy, the coolest fucker in the group. End of discussion. no
