Right on! Not one post about hey, that's cool Tommy's got an album coming out, and he choosing to support the braided one by playing bass for him once he (axl) decides to get his shit together!!! In-fucking-credible! Huh

Cool that Tommy's got an album coming out.  Tongue

Wonder if it's any good.

Yeah, it should be good. If he's worked/recorded with Frank Black, I'm sure he's recorded a fine album. Speaking of which, the Pixies are coming to Spain in 2 weeks. Can't wait.

I don't think many of us really care if Tommy releases an album or not. We do if that has an impact on his work/touring with GNR but most of us, only care about Tommy because he is somehow still involved with GNR.

I have to say the two positives I have discovered during this wait are . .

The Replacements "Let It Be"
The Figgs ~ anything

both attributed to Tommy . . .

Tommy should have said "I get paid a lot of money to record and tour when ever Axl tells me to.  I have signed a contract that doesn't permit me to speak, have any say in the release, or any say when we are touring."

Yes and yes! That is the good news... Tommy is a great guy and I love his music, esp the Replacements (personal fave=Tim). I also liked the solo dloads he made available awhile back. And his association with GNR is what tipped me off to Jesse Malin's latest album, which I also love. I also plan on listening to the Figgs album asap, as well as seeing Tommy when time and money permits.

So there are positives, but none of them relate to GNR at the moment.

rant You have to view Tommy like you would Tracy and Roberta.  He is just a hired player who has no say in what goes on in GNR.  He may give Axl his opinions, but this guy obviously isn't allowed to speak.

I understand your frustration MADAGAS.  No real updates, no sign of Chinese Democracy, and blind unconditional support of Axl Rose.  I feel you buddy.  Hang in there.  I didn't mean what I said about Roberta, uh I mean Tommy.

March 30th 2004-W. Axl Rose "Regardless, we will announce a release date in the next few months." Please explain to me how that is not giving out information? I am NOT saying anything will happen because he has said shit like this before, but it is a statement about the album. ps don't EVER lump me in to the "blind unconditional support of Axl Rose" you twit. All I'm saying is shut the fuck up about Tommy.

Just to break in for Tommy - I'm really looking forward to his album. The samples on his website sound great and they excite me a lot more than VR and stuff, so, I'll be buying Village Gorilla Head for sure and I hope he comes to Germany.

He's totally contradicting himself.

"The album will be out sooner rather than later and I will tour with them, when they call me"

"Meanwhile, I'll release an album and go on tour and that will last like a year".

Maybe he just think it's okay to cancel his little tour if Axl calls him and say "hey, we're gonna tour now".

It makes no sense, but what else is new.

Just listened to the clips on his website...

ok to "Without A View"...sounds like a good song.

The other two sound decent..He sounds kind of like Dylan.

Good for Tommy in putting out an album.

His background vocals kicked ass on the GNR tour, and his clips on his site rock, should be worth picking up Cheesy!
