I'm a llama!

« on: May 13, 2004, 04:11:16 AM »

I cant speak for the rest of the world, but what I do know is that GN'R seem to be making a big comeback in the UK.  Since the release of GH, I have seen loads of kids wearing Guns N' Roses t-shirts (all be it new ones from MVC), probably down to the fact that their videos have been on a lot of music channels lately the resounding success of GH.  Also, I watched 'the best of GN'R on one channel, and last night I watched '10 ways in which GN'R changed the world'.  O.K. the later was a bit shit with nobodys passing comments on the band, but its just great to see that people still appreciate what they did.

Now, is it me or does anyone else feel that Axl should be working like mad to try and get this album in the shops sometime this year?  I know if Chinese Democracy did come out, it would probably go straight in at no.1 over here.  And if a world tour was arranged, I would be one of the first in line for tickets which would without a doubt sell out in the UK.

So come on GN'R, don't make us wait any longer!  Take advantage of the present situation and change the world again (or at least the music world).

Peace.

Minto is DEAD right!

Furthermore, Axl should give up his pent up anger with GH and send a message to his fans . . thanking them for their support and promising to better it with CD. That little announcement from Axl would go a long long way. We all see what little information gets this board excited.

Axl is missing the boat on this one.

It wont be released soon. Axls not gonna release his album near to VR. It will just add the the hype of Slashs band and i wreckon thats the last thing he wants. Hes gonna wait and see how it does on its own.
It doesnt matter when this album is released. Its gonna sell crate loads anyway.

Alternativemonkey, I think Axl owes more to his fans then a fucking statement, but at least it would be a start.  It would be nice for him to put a stop to all the rumors and shit flying around.

TBH I think Axl WILL put a album out this year (early next year at the latest) as he is a clever man and will not let all of this publicity go to waste.

I love Slash (god) and all, but even if the new GN'R released an album at the same time as VR, we all know who would get all the publicity.

He's had a couple of decent times to drop CD IMO. He didn't do it then. At this point I just don't think he has a quality product.

You may be right, but we all know what Axl is capable of so I'm prepared to give him the benifit of the doubt.

He has had good opportunities to release the album in the past, but I feel the best time to release chinese democracy would be when GH starts to gradually drop down the charts.

Loads of young people are getting in GN'R why? Because are the greatest rock band of all time! Plus the greatest hits doing well and the DVD sales also. It proves that GN'R still got it. Although some new fans will be curious to see what is on Chinese Democracy but no doubt it is quite capable of getting a number one 1 spot in the US album charts and the UK and once again for GN'R to rule the world.

The UK is always ahead of the states in trends.  And rock stars are making a huge comeback there.  The Darkness just won band of the year there, people want that kind of glamour back right now.

I'd like to know more about that '10 Ways Gnr changed the world' if you remember it.

Yeah I recorded it with my Sky Digi Box  ok

It wasn't that great really, just a narrated show that interviewed nobodys and asked them what they thought about the band.  They also played 2 minute clips of their videos.

Didn't really do GN'R justice, but it keeps them in the public eye.

Here are the 10 reasons why GN'R changed the world (According to the show)

1.  Great debut album
2.  They fought against 'poodle metal'
3.  Lived rock & roll lifestyle
4.  They were honest
5.  They brought about a media frenzy in the UK
6.  Gave the world rock legends Axl & Slash
7.   Became THE stadium band
8.  Courted contreversy
9.  Wrote Sweet Child of Mine
10.  GN'R split?

Also had some cool quotes from band members.  My personal favourite was -

'' I have a personal disgust for small dogs like poodles.  Everything about them means I must kill them.  I must''

Who do you think said that?

by the time this christmas season comes..... VR will be done with the majority of their cd sales and the GH cd will be gone.....

I think this christmas season will be Axl's time to release it and we'll hear a release date in oct.  I said this last year though but this year has even more going for it!  I said that last year also!

Also,  I think the fact that so many people voted never on the poll on this site is sad.  (when will the release date be announced)

you would have to me a total moron to think he's gonna put all that money and work into something and then accept defeat and sit there with it on a shelf.

Who cares about the whole Velvet vs. Guns thing? Not me anyway, and I'm pretty sure Axl doesn't give a fuck either... I don't think one album's sales will affect the other's in any way really. He said that the releasedate would probably be announced some of these months.

As far as I have managed to figured things out from stuff I've read here and there, CD is most probable done by now, and has possibly been so for several months already!

Axl said so himself (indirectly) by saying that the release of GH would push things a little bit ahead. Well, I'm a patient man (I've learned while waiting these years) who will be very happy if the album comes out sometime this year

The UK is always ahead of the states in trends.

I agree with this.. sometimes i wish i lived in the UK for that reason.. they were ahead of us with the Boybands and then after it was played out in the UK it caught on over here....

I really hope we get a single or some shows or something this summer... 2003 was such a dissapointment after 2002 looked so promising..

thats crazy the way we talk about YEARS like they are months...

This year, last year, any year will be a good time for him. The current music scene doesnt really matter, There is always room in the music scence worldwide for Axl Rose.

hhahahah thats why i started learning guitar. All those whiny untalented drop d fuckers playing songs that make you sad. I'd take the crappest glam rock metal of the 80's over it anyday.

Don't worry......gimme 5 or 6 years and i'll have a rock n roll band formed..............rock n roll will be back i tell you..............forever. ok
