Theres alot of possibilities and choices for various reasons. Maybe Cobain's presence would have thwarted the late 90's pop invasion. Maybe you wish Bonham never died and Zeppelin stayed together. Plus your cliff burtons, john lennons, joey ramones.

I think my choice would be Bon Scott. I am a big ACDC fan and I love Brian Johnson but Bon's voice just had such a cool attitude to it and I have a strong proclivity towards the music they made with him.

He probably would be my number 2. Very under rated in a way by alot of the people I know who like hard rock music.

My choice would be Randy Castillo.? He's one of the greatest drummers ever to sit behind a kit.? I wish like hell he was still peppering Ozzy's songs with his amazing drumming.

Also, Randy Rhoads.  He was going to quit Ozzy's band anyway, so Ozzy's career would feasibly not have been much different, but Randy would've given us much more through his classical rock guitar releases, which he planned to study in college.

I would say Bon Scott also, but with Bon alive, we wouldn't have Brian Johnson fronting AC/DC.? Brian simply rocks.? ?Cool

I feel the same way...

But if I could resurrect one PHYSICALLY dead rock star, it would be Randy Rhoads.  The guy had so much untapped talent and I'm sure we would have lots of great songs that he never got the chance to put out.

This quote isn't related to Randy Rhoads, but to the topic of dead rock stars in general.  Neil Young once said, "Somewhere in the universe there's a museum full of all the great music that we'll never get to hear, because of heroin."  That was about Crazy Horse guitarist Danny Whitten, but it's a good metaphor for all rock deaths.

Wow, thats a pretty interesting question. Id have to say John Lennon or Jim Morrison. Both for obvious reasons that they are without a doubt two of the most amazing vocalists and songwriters of our time. Also, both died so tragically and pretty young with so much more talent and energy that the world will truly miss even years from now..

Not Kurt Cobain though!

That would be a waste of a choice!

I can't choose one above anyone else.  Cliff Burton was needed to save Metallica's slide into shitdom.  Jimi could've made more historic music.  John Bonham for obvious reasons.  Sorry, can't choose one!

Not Doubt About It Mr. Freddie Mercury, No one Like him, but he wouldn't be saving rock That's all I know, He's most into pop than into rock he used to like explore new grounds on music and I bet that if he were alive he would be making tracks with bitchy Spears or those crapy boybands.  nervous

If Im not mistaken, Shannon Hoon died of a cocaine or heroin overdose while the band was on tour sometime in 94, or 95 Im not completely sure about the year. But I guess the morning of a show, the band found him lifeless in his tour bus I believe.

That's correct, they found him in the tour bus just hours before a show on October 21, 1995. It was a cocaine overdose. Just three months after his daughter Nico Blue was born  Cry

I can't believe that he's gone. He died so young, and had so much more to offer. If there is someone here who hasn't listened to Blind Melon yet...well, you really should.
