The intro makes me feel like I'm all alone on a horror movie space station.

Combined with the wacky solo and the beeping outro, it makes for an odd sci-fi tinged rocker. Space Bedouins?

An example of where the excessive production works. A nondescript track when played live has turned into a more dynamic rocker. Very simple in structure, but there's a place for songs like that on an album.

Here's another one with an intro I'm not sure about. In a word; unnecessary. The song could easily just kick in with the guitar work and take off. Seems as if the intro bogs it down. When the song does kick it, it's biggest short coming is apparent; the "Ahh Ahh" lyrics. Again they seem unnecessary or at the very least unfinished. The two high points of the song are by far the half time chorus and solo. Those two points are what got stuck in my head and brought me back for repeated listens.

This is a great song.  People keep calling this the filler song.  Why?  It's a great straight-forward kick ass rocker.  How in the world is that a bad thing?

It reminds me a lot of tracks like OTGM or You're Crazy.  It really embodies a lot of the no holds barred GNR spirit.  Great track.  Axl, thanks for this one!!

« Reply #35 on: November 21, 2008, 04:27:26 AM »

I spent most of Thurs. listening to MySpace...jumped in the car, threw the radio on a local station, and about 20 minutes out I realized I was listening to Riad!  The DJ called it Raidin' the bed-oyns...I think it was a college station...thank god for our education system.  That dolt will probably be my boss in 6 months... hihi

I am not foaming at the mouth over this song, but as with all GnR, it surpasses anything anybody else is producing.  ok

I agree with yet on this
at first when played live this song did nothing for me but this song has been given nice simple progression changes and is an unexpected but very welcome gem to the album

Love this song, although must confess the weird sci-fi intro and the editing once again** are pissing me a bit. Surely they'll grow on me.

Should've never heard the demo. Got used to Robin's solo. That cool little stop on the rythm section in the middle of the solo also had more highlight before. Now it's kinda hidden by Ron. His style sounds strange, but, ok, good.

** It's the 3rd mistake I noticed on CD - minor ones, I know, but that just could not happen on such an historical album - it's on 3:24 when Axl sings "if you had wove - cut and paste - SO WELL". The other editing problems: Ron's slide on Better and Scraped 1:19. Not saying it ruined CD or something like that. CD is near to perfection, those are the ONLY things that just should not be there.

This is not a mistake, he's just phrasing the line differently than earlier in the song.
