Yup, good for building hype. U think GNR need to decide if they first want to release new music. My view is that nowadays fan interaction is so important. Metallica does this on a sublime level

Something like the Smashing Pumpkins would be cool, whatever it is :

Yeah, what the hell is that all about?  Multiple countdown clocks and a puzzle to solve.

I vaguely remember Billy saying something about the upcoming album having material they were taking their time with and they were really excited on the direction it was going in as opposed to the previous release that was done really quick.

Their last album was not so good but at least they release albums in a timely manner.  It looks like we will be lucky to get a GNR album by the summer of next year. beer

I'd love to find some kind of maturity in the sound and
compositions, something who reminds me albums from
Led Zeppelin and Blue Oyster Cult or Thin Lizzy, definitly
not a "modern" sounding thing in terms of production.

and I'm not talking about some nostalgic reminiscent shit,
I'm 48 so I wasn't there when these bands were at their top.

just...I want an aura, the magic of discovering a complete album,
concept or not. I read here and there, mini LP, singles...well, no
thank you, Guns N'Roses is an album band, at least to me.

Actually the trend in music is swing back towards complete albums and away from playlists.  That's according to my AARP magazine.  Yeah, your grandma is fucking cool and it sounds better on vinyl!  hihi

We could talk about that.  But I'm so burned out on the subject of this thread, I don't want too.  hihi

Lets just say the thrill is gone.  I'm sure we'll be excited when it comes out.  In the meantime there's a lot of life between now and then.  Getting me some.  Cheesy

Companies and bands that want to actually make money.

Very few people are ever (outside of us) going to experience new music in a physical medium like CD. once you leave that physical medium then you aren't tied to the confines or limitations of that physical media.

I would rather get music on the regular, in smaller doses, than get one "album" every 15-20 years.

we all know too well you're not making the money with the albums anymore.

it's not even a question of physical or dematerialized music, but just a question
of format yes, but you forgot the main thing : the artistic choice to propose 10
or 12 tracks, because they're a meaning. of course you can publish one single
by month, but it modifies how you will listen to the music.

for example I don't imagine Abbey Road as a succession of singles, and if it were
published that way it would have made no sense.

but of course I'd love to listen to some singles between albums, as movie tracks
or collaborations with other artists, but well, alas it's not the case.

If GNR do release new music, I can't imagine them not releasing it in album format. They're an album kind of band.

Not saying they'll do any of this, Guns N' Roses obviously moves at their own pace and does things their own way but:

Totally understand.

I don't think it will look like a single of the month club... I envision a drop with a few songs every so often. Example being Don't Cry, November Rain, Estranged. They could have been released as a themed group to all streaming platforms with the mention of VEVO content to follow.

I feel like this allows the consumer to never have to wait years, this also allows a tour to capitalize off of a steady drip of new content to attract people.

Quite like the idea of releasing a single a month say for a period of 6 months with a physical and delux edition being released at the end of that period. I also like Lamborghinis but I’ve got about as much chance of getting one of those too  hihi
