New GNR album coming, obviously.  ;)

My New Year's resolution is to not read into/over-analyze social media posts by GnR, or people affiliated with GnR.  That being said, it's still 2017.  Clearly this means a new album next year!  ;D

The article is a bit misleading, by exchanging "a better year" with "a bigger year". That's an important distinction. The way I'm reading it, he's basically saying "the band is only getting better from here".

...Madrid stands out even though our entire European dates were quite memorable, such as South America, London, Israel, RIR, SP beautiful Argentina, USA

I was at the Madrid show in early June. I have been to more 100 Stadium concerts in my life, and this was BY FAR, the craziest, wildest and loudest I've ever been to. The crowd was just completely insane. I'm a big guy (195 cms -- 6'4) and I was moved around the pit like I was balloon. I sang and moved more than anyone but man, it felt like I had to fight a seven nation army to claim my spot in the pit.

I take it as a new album too. Maybe they?ll do another residency somewhere. Atlantic City is opening a brand new hard rock hotel next year!

Jarmo, do you have a favorite show from the 16-17 run?

Hmm... a new album should spark a new full world tour imo.

If anything, maybe a two-week residency somewhere during such a tour could work.

Are we discussing the ashba rumour on here? Not sure I buy into it myself....but then i'm too cynical to buy into any gnr rumour.

Jarmo, do you have a favorite show from the 16-17 run?

Many.

Some were favorites because of the location though.... Wasn't necessarily because the show itself was better than another show. :)

Some personal highlights that come to mind: Las Vegas  2016 (where it started for me), Mexico City 2016 (amazing crowds, hail storm), East Rutherford 2016 (the venue), Seattle (perfect weather), Dodger Stadium (a big homecoming), Buenos Aires 2016 (River Plate and the crowd), Porto Alegre, Sydney (Angus and Angry), Slane, Bilboa, Alges, Madrid (First four European shows with Mark Lanegan opening), Imola, London, Copenhagen, Stockholm, H?meenlinna, The Apollo, The Gorge, Rock In Rio, La Plata, Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles...

Ha! Most of them then!

I find it difficult to compare what I saw. Each show felt special in it's own way. Couldn't choose between them really.

Not sure how he would fit in at this point.

No way Slash will leave now, and Richard is doing a solid job.

Can't see the need for a three-guitar band either. The sound they produce during the concerts now is perfect.

Agree with you. It's got to be reading too much into a few things really. Only scenario I can see is if Richard is planning on leaving- which I've not seen suggested anywhere at all.

Other slight possibility is sonething cd related, as next year will be it's 10th anniversary, amazingly!

Jarmo, thanks for giving props to the venue of my home state: NJ.  : ok:  The only thing that stinks about MetLife Stadium is that there is no roof. For this time of the year it is needed for Giants games.

I think people are reading into it way too much. I don't see Ashba being part  of GNR since there isn't a spot for him.

If it is related to Guns, I think it would have to be Axl only... I know Axl registered a trademark called WAR which supposedly is a new tequila brand. Since Ashba is doing company marketing/branding jobs, that might just be it.

I gotta say, if he's back in GN'R I'll be quite disappointed. Probably nice enough guy, but he has nothing to add to the current lineup. Richard switching places with Ashba would make it a less competent band in my opinion.

Maybe it is just me but I don't get anything out of that article.

It says absolutely nothing :-[

I think this was just a generic thing people say.  "Next year" is always going to be bigger and better.

Just a friendly reminder for the new year: Just because someone posts old pictures with Axl / GN'R does not mean they are working together with him or the band.... The #NotInThisLifetime tour will start in Berlin on June 3rd!

Speculation in various places online that Ashba was returning, based on some things he put online, and people getting carried away with interpreting it in different ways. Clearly nothing to it though.

I liked him, while he was in the band...

But,If he releases the rummors just to be in the center of attention, then let him go to suck  d..k

it's not really him releasing any rumours for attention - it's people creating their own truth out of nothing as far as I can see.

I've never really got the dislike for Ashba. I enjoyed the shows I saw that he was involved with, and he always came across as decent enough in interviews etc.

Good luck to him, and what seems like his new project.
