I'm looking forward to downloading some tracks that are Christmas-oriented, and are from rock groups or even metal. They can be covers, hymns, carols, live, etc. For example, I have Chris Cornell singing "Ave Maria." If you can think of any others, it'd be appreciated.

That's a brilliant track, one of Hanoi's best. Another good one is 'Red Water (Christmas Mourning)' by Type O Negative. Great lyrics.

I've gotta hear that Hanoi song...
Do check it out. Here's a snippet from an interview where Axl mentions the song: RIP: Remember when you actually moved into The Record Plant and set up camp?
AXL: There was no heat in that room. It was a cold, lonely place, but it was the only place I could stay to keep myself in the work. It was cool looking, but it was dark, cold and weird. It got to the point that certain people could tell just by the way I was talking, the tone of my voice, that l wasn't right. A friend brought by some Christmas presents. Another flew out unannounced and stayed with me Christmas Day, because they were very worried that I wasn't going to make it through. I couldn't leave the studio, but I couldn't go back to my condo because of my neighbor. That was a nightmare. It was also wild, because these people didn't know anything about the Christmas before, when was driving to your house, trying to find someone with dope on the way because l wanted to OD. I could always relate to the Hanoi Rocks song "Dead by Christmas." It's been two Christmases since then, though, and this past one was probably the nicest I've had in 29 years

Savatage - Christmas Eve from Dead Winter Dead album (it was an unexpected radio hit) In fact, you can listen to the Transiberian Orchestra's albums. I wonder if this rock opera style has something to with Chinese Democracy . Although it's something that has been done again and used in the past unsuccesfully.

The versions of "White Christmas" supposedly by GN'R and The Wildhearts are both fakes.
The GN'R one has been disputed for a while..it's just some piss-poor Axl impersonator. The Wildhearts never covered it either - I believe I read it on their official site at one time.
They're both cool versions, but neither one is by who the supposed artist is.

Bon Jovi's " I Wish Everyday Could Be Like Christmas" and " Please Come Home For Christmas" (yes, the video featuring Cindy Crawford ) I think both songs are from the early 90's. The guys in the band have also done renditions of a lot of Christmas songs.

Does anyone know a good rock rendition of "Little Drummer Boy"?
I know this was posted a while back, but no one answered... Bob Seger did a good one. Also, David Bowie and Bing Crosby did a medley with Little Drummer Boy and Peace on Earth together. I suggest the Gary Hoey collections (Ho Ho Hoey) or Merry Axemas compilations for awesome instrumental versions of Christmas songs. Oh, and nobody mentioned Christmastime is Here Again by the Beatles. Finally, there's a kick ass Paul Di'anno version of Garry Glitter's Another Rock N' Roll Christmas.
