Use Your Illusion

WWW
« on: December 28, 2011, 07:10:03 PM »

I have been around these forums for sometime and I would hope that people who know me, know that I am not one to usually make 'claims' or regurgitate rumours.  However, over the Christmas period, I saw someone I knew from school.  They now work for a big company that organises tours etc for big name bands in arenas/stadiums.  I cant voach for their honesty (however, they have no reason to lie to me) I can voach for the job they do.

They basically said that tickets for a GNR UK arena tour is to go on sale in January 2012.  This was a comment made in a very quick conversation - no date when they go on sale, no date when the tour will happen.  Just that a tour WILL happen in 2012.  Again, I can voach for this person - she was working on the 2011 tour and got me tickets for the UK shows.

Take it for what it is - a bit of info that I have passed on - might not happen but nevertheless, its news and POSITIVE news.

It's nice to hear from several sources about GNR touring Europe in 2012! Wink
And like Axl said, they are going to be very busy in 2012.  ok

Well OP I can verify that I have also heard such rumours so if they're true then I hope that the tour comes near me (oh, who am I kidding, I'll probably go to a minimum of four dates anyway lol)

This part of the Chinese Democracy tour has been going for 2 years and they have covered most of the world, or where bands usually go on their world tours.

I'd rather see GNR spend 2012 in the studio or release new material before they go out on the road again and play they same setlist that they've been playing for the best part of 11 years.

I love Guns, but I feel they would be milking it to extend the tour into 2012 before a new release.

I agree, but these days bands tour to fund albums instead of the other way around like it used to be.  I don't know what their financial situation is, but I doubt Universal is about to dump a whole bunch of money on the next release so maybe they feel like more touring ($$$) is needed to make another album.
