for some reason, i think you are doing all of the above to me. again, i dont care about you, bro! you should live and be well, but i want nothing to do with you. im not tracking/following you around. i dont have enough time to do that even if i wanted to. you come off as though you "own" gnr and are the end-all , be-it-all of the band...and yes, regarding that aspect of you, i do not feel you are the guy for the job and i dont think the band feels you are either..just my gut...

Arriving in the final stretch of one of the bleakest awards seasons on record, Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party on Saturday night arrived as a reminder of certain inalienable Hollywood truths.

Then there were the performances.

"American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry ran through a short set with Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash and Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger that included a cover of Credence Clearwater Revival's "Born on the Bayou." "I was here last year and I had to sit in the audience," Daughtry said, "and it sucks watching everyone else perform."

I think for the most part, players like to play.  When you've reached icon status like Slash has, everyone imaginable will ask you.  Playing Clive Davis' party is a virtual no brainer, when he asks - you just do it.

With things looking less than positive on the VR front, he better get his live Jones on whenever he can...

Yeah, playing to help a charity and playing at Clive Davis's party (one of the most influential executives in music industry history) is really something Slash should avoid to save some credibility. Lord knows the recipients of the charitable aid from money raised at the Peapod Foundation Event are heart broken he would whore himself out to play with Fergie regardless of the spirit of the event. It is good that Slash uses his celebrity for positive causes, even if it means playing with fluff artists. If you are Slash and Cljve Davis invites you to play at his party, you do it no questions asked. He did alot for Slash and the VR guys by giving them a deal and believing in them when VR first started. Loyalty to those who have done well for you in the past is an admirable quality, and only someone totally self-absorbed would avoid either of these situations if they were a musician.

Nothing wrong with that.




Yeah, I guess you have to play at the party for the man who got you your record deal and Grammy award. :)

Fergie & Slash Will Perform Together At Grammy's?

But I don't know how true that story was because last year his luggage had been lost when he was flying from Canada to London and he claimed it contained a lot of expensive jewelry.  A few days later when his luggage was found, he said something like he was just "joking" about the missing jewelry.
