Great interview, great questions n great answers.
Actually there are lots of new bits (of pretzels?) here and there. Especially Q about his view on the Internet and music industry was interesting.
And on the whole I got a strong impression that this guy is every bit sincere n brave.
HTGTH: I think I'll transcribe it, because I don't really like hearing my own voice too much (laughs)
Tommy: Fair enough, me neither.
And men of quick wits, you 2.

CONGRATULATIONS, JARMO!!!? ?
? ?YOU DID A REALLY GREAT JOB ON THAT INTERVIEW!!!
Quote
HTGTH: You said "Chinese Democracy" is almost done. But people are wondering what's been happening all these years? Have you worked on 18 songs for one album or is it like a bunch of songs that you could put out within a year or so?
Tommy: Originally we had a fucking whole lot of songs we were working on. We kinda rolled around them and just kinda kept molding them as we went along.
The process of making the GN'R record is a long process to begin with.
Because basically, Axl as a producer is trying to get the best out of eight guys and get them all in a song, like trying to pull everyone in.
You know, mush it together like a fucking piece of clay or something. Trying to form a piece of art work out of it. It takes time.
It's not like when I was in the Replacements, Paul would come to rehearsal with a couple of songs. "Ok, this is how they go, watch me play the chords," we play it, go to the studio and knock it down in an hour. It's not like that.
He has a way of working with people and pulling them in. Get you to bring something to the plate that's gonna be special and cool for that song. And it just takes a long time.
Because you got eight guys you know.
So that process takes a while.
"
eight guys
" ... sounds like Axl's leaving BH's parts in.

Awesome job! Jarmo
I guessing Tommy has an obsession with jacking off and the word fuck.
I think its great with him saying they worked on 35 or so songs, they know of this site, and buckethead leaving was the best part of the band but he wont go into details. I wonder what was really going on behind that mask.
Again great job and a good read.

just to reiterate, great job. yeah the buckethead thing must have been pretty bad... with that remaining so secret during the entire time bucket was supposedly in the band, i wonder how much else we don't know, as far as other band mates and auditions, etc. they do a great job with secrecy, really amazing that nothing leaks.

It was actually Joe who gave him the ideas by doing certain gestures....

Good job J!
I got a little concerned when I read that he would be touring in Jnauary and February. I know he said he had to check in with GNR before setting that tour up, but it seemed from the interview that he was
planning
on touring in January and February. Is that accurate jarmo?

Ya, shit happens.
I remember reading an interview where Tommy said something like "BH, Oh, BH I miss him."
Sad, but so be it.
As Tommy?s such an affectionate bloke, I think he?s deeply hurt with BH departure. You wouldn?t feel like praising a girl for some time after she dumped you, you know.
But you can?t help loving your beautiful kids she left behind?.(Geez, why do I use this kinda expressions again and again only to make myself
sick)
Hopefully they're leaving BH's parts in.
