Guns N? Roses date confirmed for Manchester Arena for Tue 29th May 2012, tickets onsale on Friday 2nd March

Guess that rules them out for Sonisphere?

Am I going mad or has this been removed from Ticketmaster's listings?!  Premature announcement, perhaps, and does this have any bearing on the Sonisphere announcement this evening?!  Mmmm, interesting.

It's still there.

Sonisphere UK is on July 6th-8th. GN'R has a show on the 8th in Sofia, Bulgaria.

That leaves you July 6th, since the 7th is needed for the 26+ hour transport to Sofia.



So, I think it's not very likely you'll see GN'R at that festival.

Yeah, did wonder about the logistics of it all, jarmo, but didn't know how much of their own equipment the band use for festivals. Or whether they still had two sets of everything like I think they had in the '90s - unless my memory's playing tricks on this one. Oh well, I'll be getting a ticket for the festival anyway (for Queen plus Adam Lambert), but won't have to do double duties after all, which is a relief.

Great news! last time in October 2010 I paid for premium tickets and ended up behind the stage which really pissed me off, will make sure I get a better seat this time, too old for all that standing shit (or too lazy!)

there was a really strong hint on planet rock  today that GN`R were going to be announced tonight but maybe they saw the fake or leaked poster ;)

Hometown gig for me this one. Can't wait.

Never thought I'd see them so soon after the 2010 tour.

It's better 6 arena shows than 1 festival...

I guess the May 30 & 31 @ the London O2 Arena rumour may be a go'er also, kinda fits with Manchester  :smoking:

i would doubt they would play 3 shows in a row.......

there has been a leaked poster of sonisphere with skid row on the bill as the sub to Kiss(the official one just has it listed as special guests no mention of who it is. The leak was from faith no more). Skid row surely aint big enough without baz for this to happen. Gn'r and Skid row tour together would be awsome.

I thought it was an awesome night, I thought Seb was an amazing opening and then when those chords for CD rang out around the arena it was epic! Personal highlight was Shacklers and Rocket Queen and Nightrain and This I Love and..........you get the idea!

Awesome news! Best gig of my life at the O2 in 2010, so can't wait to see them again this year, especially after reading the posts and reviews of the shows since last time I saw them  ;D

Hmmm! i dunno what to do about this show , ive seen GnR everytime they have been through England since 1991 , however ive seen Chinese Democracy tour in 2002 , 3 times in 2006 and again in 2010 im not sure if this will be another one or if they will be promoting some new stuff. It costs a lot as its 2 days off work and im self employed so i dont get paid when i dont go and beer money and travel and tickets.
However i have enjoyed every Guns gig ive been to , Milton Keynes one was average but the rest awesome. Im just hoping they play a couple of new ones 

Hell Yeahh im in, got to the front row Oct 2010 same again i think..........Will be my ninth GNR show from 1992 to 2012 twenty years and still loving the Legend that is Axl Rose!

It seems like some artists put out shit albums just so they have an excuse to "promote" something by touring.

yeh i know what your saying and i will probably go anyway, its just how many times have i seen them songs played ? i appreciate that fans expect the hits of course but im not into nostalgia i hope to see them looking to the future too. Im still intrigued cos the reviews of the American tour are some of the best they have had in years so they must be on fire. I already av tickets to MEN to see Pearl Jam in june and i dont know if they are promoting anything but they play a different show every night.

But that's the point isn't it, casual fans (who make up the majority of the audience) want and expect to hear the hits. I don't know of any fan base for any artist that wouldn't like a set list comprising of rarities or at least personal favourites, but we all have to be realistic and accept that that's not going to happen. And, as such, appreciate the fact that at least we get to see our favourite band in action. Something that Guns fans, in particular, ought to treasure given the obstacles Axl has had to overcome in order to put together such an amazing collection of musicians.

I'll be doing all I can to get a ticket for Manchester as the past shows there have had an incredible atmosphere.  Also, having learnt the hard way in the 90's, I don't take anything for granted where this band is concerned and grab every chance I can to see them live.

Probably less times than you heard the songs on the albums?

Yep true!! and point taken , it dont cost as much tho ha. My mate has been on the phone since my last post and hes defo going so im gonna go with him.
Need to somehow start saving some cash, 2 gigs in the space of a month, but still my two fave bands to look 4ward to

Does anyone know how the 02 code works ? if it`s one we can all use will someone  post it next week for us, on a side note it was taken off t/m yesterday and put back up again so not worrying to much about it ( presale starts monday) 02 thing wednesday : ok:

In any case, I do hope the show still goes ahead.... let's hope it was just a case of ticketmaster jumping the gun. I did think it was strange how this show was announced at this time, and on it's own. Usually any UK show get's announced with a few other UK shows, so I don't know maybe there's still a chance it might happen.  ;)

Perhaps I was getting a little ahead of myself.

My mind plays tricks when GN'R are involved.

It performed this calculation:

Ticketmaster fail + Axl's state of sickness = Must be cancelled

Having now realised that the Dublin date is still there, I've decided to put that far reaching assumption on hold.

Im sure it will be back up soon with the rest of the UK arena dates...... All part of the GNR rollercoaster.

some of the other boards have said Manchester is cancelled - it has been removed from ticketmaster...any thoughts / confirmation?

Or maybe it was removed because it wasn't announced?

It just showed up on Ticketmaster with no announcement.

I think a full UK tour could be announced tomorrow going off the information that the Manchester pre sale was set for this Monday 27th.........

I think there will be full annoucment

Hoping for something tomorrow but happy to see them next time they are in the UK whenever that is. If they are playing a few shows in the UK I hope they play Sheffield Arena I much prefer the sound at that venue over the Manchester MEN.

Gonna be great wherever they are playing.

Hope this isn't a daft question...but will fan club members get special access to tickets?

Great comment, and yes it's true that Sheffield Hallam FM Arena is a great venue. It was definitely one of my favourite GN'R shows I attended in 2006. I also thought it was a shame how they missed out Sheffield on the 2010 leg.  :o

Brilliant, saw them at the MEN in 2006 and 2010, looking forward to another rocking show there.  : ok:


Be kick ass to get them to Liverpool though, then I wouldn't have to drive and could go out on the lash after. ;D

Pre Sale usually American express card holder pre sale from a Monday then O2 Priority from Wednesday and then general sale on the friday......... You can get a free O2 sim card register it an then get the O2 pre sale 2 days before general sale.
