Title: Axl To Retire?
Post by: JAEBALL on May 21, 2014, 03:35:25 PM
well this is interesting...............

http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2014/05/guns-n-roses-split-axl-rose-slash-break-up-band-rock/

I know take this with a grain of salt.... but... hey its not totally unreasonable that it could be true

I hope not.

He's certainly been giving off a going through the motions vibe these past few years.  Can't rule it out.

if he goes home... so does all of that unreleased stuff... what a shame that would be...

i know its obviously not even close to being a confirmed report, but they dont post stuff just for the sake of it

imagine if this is true ( i certainly have my doubts)

what the fuck would we all bicker about all day long??

I don't like any other singers/frontman....

This bit is funny..."Band members and support staff were surprised when told the news and are actively looking for work.?

Maybe some of the bars and resorts are hiring!

I doubt that it's true, but what's retirement these days anyway? How many times have the Rolling Stones said it's was their last tour, or how about M?tley Cr?e saying this there last tour but it seems to go on forever.....I wouldn't read to much into it.

And it's not April 1st...This could be a scenario,or hopefully not.

Haha! ;D

I  think this is just a overblown version of GN'R is probably not going to tour for next 10 or so months or much more. who knows.

In GN'R land not many things are set on stone, so what ever happens, happens. Was this a bullshit story or not.  ;)

I bet he's realistically thinking "long hiatus."

But take note of URL to see how valid this might be.

The answer right there in the url.

Also, at MYGNRFORUM Manets is, apparently, now saying it's fake.

Axl should do it, let go of the band and go live his life.

He has been doing it since he was young, it would be great for him to visit countries without the stress of playing live.

Do it, Sir. Let it all go, and enjoy your life's earnings. I would, to be fair, in your position.

However, if he still enjoys what he does, then, of course, he should carry on.

I would completely understand this, if true.

He's toured a bunch over the last 8 years and I can certainly see him wanting to take a long break, retire in full, or pursue some other goals outside of GNR

?If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater his effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders - What would you tell him?"

"I?don't know. What?could he do? What would you tell him?"

"To shrug.?

Axl Rose retiring: FALSE
Macaulay Culkin in Velvet Underground tribute band dedicated to pizza: TRUE

It'll be false, it has come from a celebrity gossip magazine  :hihi:

But, the idea itself is not a bad idea for Axl as a person. I have known people who have lived their lives doing the same thing since they were young, and retirement has re-ignited them in a big way. It's like living locked in a house with windows, looking outside, but never going outside. It can be suffocating.

There is no shame in thinking about change

I think this story is BS. If this was true, it would be picked up by major media outlets like the story of Axl being the greatest vocalist. My employer, Bloomberg LP, would have definitely wrote something on this matter.

So, no retirement.

That's settled.  Glad GN'R settled it quickly.

I believe I know the source of this b.s. story...

...my wife.

I just saw GNR for the 7th time.  She worries every time I head out for a GNR concert.  I believe she put this story out to pressure Axl into retirement.
I sincerely apologize for the alleged actions of Mrs. Axl4Prez!   :hihi:

He is way too young to retire, he'd be bored if he couldn't write/sing or perform to audiences who adore him & love the current band.

I would be devastated if he went into seclusion & I know many others who would also feel the same.

Axl4Prez - tell your wife you're going to boxing matches/baseball or whatever sports she really hates to stop her spreading these rumours

We will know when Jarmo changes the name of this forum to Was Here Today Now Gone to Retirement  :crying:

Just read an article on blabbermouth.net and what bothered me WS how they gave credibility to the retirement dyptory by pasting old Dizzy Reed quotes to the article as if they pertained about this rumor...

This s obviously a rumor written with zero credibility..I say we start our own Axl rumor..How about Axl wins Mega Millions Lottery Drawing..

Sounds like that we can just expect a verrrry long period of downtime after vegas...which I think we all kinda expected

Certainly Axl is entitled to do whatever he wants.... but it sounds like it will be very quiet for a while

Speculation that Ron is gone for good after this as well

So Richard and DJ said a month ago that they're working on music and would like to put out a record in a year, right?  But now we think based on this rumor that there's going to be a long period of downtime?

Oh dear, how will I cope with no new pics of Axl for a long time? My life is over if he disappears  :'(

Gee this site behind the times its Bumble whos finishing up  ::)

Sadly this seems to be the case, if it was meant to be kept a secret until after Vegas it's the worst kept secret.
Nobody apart from the fans are talking about it but if it's true then I'd like to see a special farewell to him on his last night rather than he just disappears altogether. Even if he wants to leave he would still likely feel rather sad on his last performance.

If it's not true then  :peace:  Hooray   :peace:

I doubt it is true, probably a publicity stunt to drive ticket sales at the residency.
