Hopefully some news on new music. I don't understand the secrecy.

Hoping the same.  Personally, I don't see how they make good on new music by March like Fernando eluded too.  The continued radio silence on that front is...worrying.  :-\

So if you don't hear the tree fall in the forest it didn't make a sound?

There's something I've learned over the years. Just because we don't hear about something doesn't mean nothing has happened....

You could be totally right, and I'm hoping that's the case.  I said in the other thread that they could be downplaying an imminent (as in within the next few months) release to combat any possible leaks, and come March we'll see an explosion of activity.

I'm fully open to the fact that they have recorded, and they are planning on releasing something next year.

It's the extreme 'keeping the the fans in the dark' when it comes to new music I don't quite understand the logic behind anymore. It would've been nice for us fans to have something concrete to look forward to in the recorded music department.

As for a potential backfiring in case something doesn't materialize the way that was planned, I think the current status of the band will go a long way. They're more popular now than ever, and I think the fans are more lenient than a few years ago.

Yeah, it's the constant "cloak and daggers" approach to the fanbase that confuses me too.  Though, if they're doing it to avoid potential leaks, I get it. The caveat of course being that they actually release...something.

Think about this: 1 new album in 26 years (as "gnr"). They're not keeping the secret, it is what it is, probably they're just not ready to release an album the way they want to. Considering all the hype surrounding the gnr reunion "keeping the secret" wouldn't be possible. Anyway if they want to sell something, i think they should do it the next year (even knowing that art, time & market usually don't go togheter), cause people get bored soon nowadays. The "magic" was there in 2016/2017 now it's lost already (well it's almost 2020) for an occasional fan. Hope soon is the word, but i won't hold my breath

Depends on what country you're in I think. I couldn't open the link without a VPN.

What a fucking joke. He asked like 2 questions about the TSI and said "See ya later man".

What was the fucking point of that?

Hey fellas, maybe next time find an interviewer with, you know, a pulse. What a complete waste of time.

Steve Jones has been away for months.

Nice to hear him being back and feeling better.

Having Slash there to support his friend was even nicer.

Yeah, he didn't reveal any earth shattering GN'R news. But who was expecting that?

Um, they just announced a tour that's supposed to kick off the "next chapter" of GNR literally hours ago and have been teasing a new record for years.  A lot of people listening were likely hoping to hear something, anything, hopeful on that front.  That he would not so much as mention either is hugely disappointing for fans. Check MyGNR if you don't believe me.

Well to be honest, I doubt they would announce it like that...

Whether or not people share my belief is a different matter.

Honestly, I'm starting to think Fernando may have been full of shit with that March/April album comment. That, or he did not realize what he was saying in that moment. I would love to be proven wrong, we'll find out soon enough.

If it makes any difference, the tour announcement didn't mention Not In This Lifetime.

Europe x South America 2020. The next chapter is F'n coming

There's what people want and then there's what you get, GNR.    :D

It's put up or shut up time, either put an album out or just say your a touring band like Queen. Difference is Queen has  lot more material to tour with unlike GNR who plays the same 30 songs.

I thought we’d heard album due in March?

Promos for tour say it’s the “next chapter”

There's always covers that can be added.  ;D

I don't think it's that dire for GNR.  The band is out there doing what they like to do.  Might put out an album, might not.  They could probably say the same to you, put up or shut up time.  You know, if they were listening to the puppet masters.

Thats a lame excuse.

You see it that way.  What about doing it their way?  What about the people who know it best, all the ins and outs, have it on the line, being responsible for deciding how to do it?  I don't think we can predict GNR's future for them or tell them when it's time to give it up.
