ADLER'S APPETITE, featuring original GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, has announced their summer tour.

Fresh off recent appearences on VH1's That Metal Show and Sober House, Steven and company are hitting the road this summer in support of Adler's tell-all biography, My Appetite For Destruction: Sex, Drugs & Guns N' Roses, which is set for a July 27th release through Harper Collins.

The tour will also mark the debut of new original material from the band, which includes guitarists Alex Grossi (ex-QUIET RIOT) and Michael Thomas (FASTER PUSSYCAT), bassist Chip Z'nuff (ENUFF Z'NUFF) and vocalist Rick Stitch (LADYJACK). "We are really looking forward to getting back out there and playing some new material," says Adler. "As much as we love doing all the old GN'R stuff, which of course we will contiune to do, it will be nice to show the fans that there is so much more to this band than what people have seen".

Yes, I wouldn't rush to go see them, but they are a pretty decent band.

Foxboro MA Show

Anchored was good, had a tough/small audience...had to beg people to hit the floor (in their defense, it was roped off pretty good).   I went up, but due to lack of a DD, was a little more reserved than I normally would be...plus its tough to 'rock out' with like 7 other people at the front of the stage.

Adlers Appetite went on late (make some more comments about Axl, Steven), played a short set, but did a decent job with what they played.  Their opener - Reckless Life, was probably the highlight, as it fit Rick's voice perfectly.   Michael Thomas is 100% Rockstar..even when he screws up (SCOM intro)..I could have just watched him the whole show.  The Adler love fest has to stop though, if they are ever going to be taken seriously...its a fucking band, not a one man show...and Chip needs to look around - is he going for the senile grandpa that found his clothes from the '70s look?  Everyone else is in black leather...and there is chip with his goofy hat and white platform shoes.

Anybody else (did anybody else go?) catch when Rick grabbed his shot (looked like Jager), and toasted Michael and the tech, then turned to toast Steven...Steven tried to grab it...then reached down and got his Pepsi for the toast.  Was that a joke, or are these guys trying to throw him off the wagon?   hihi

He probably would!  I saw Steven in 2004 and got to hang out with him a little bit.  He was super cool with all the fans and hung out with them at various points before the show.

Sanford ME show

First off - 8pm show??  I pulled into the driveway at 6:30 with Adler's Appetite breaking into Nighttrain (yes, you could see and hear them from the road, and the driveway passed right behind Steven's back - coulda reached over fence and pulled his hair)...totally missed Anchored.  Adler's Appetite was tight again, musically, but with a very disappointing turnout (I would estimate 75 people), another short set, and didn't even bother with the 'encore' routine...just played off with Jungle, and hit the bus.   I left 15 mins later, just as Rick and Michael were sitting down for the 'meet and greet'.   It was fairly obvious there must have been some issues with noise ordinances or something...and I can't believe anybody beyond a local band would perform at this venue...I have seen bigger backyard BBQ's with nothing but the grill and a boom box for entertainment.

Oh, yeah, Chip sorta lost the grandpa look today, with a black and white softball shirt...but kept the damn white platforms on...and Alex looked pissed/disinterested throughout the show.

-edit-  Adler takes mike: "Sanford (or any other city), do you know what this place reminds me of?  The fucking Jungle"; I guess they stick to the script give or take a couple songs.

I saw them at the Aug 26 show in Everett, Wa.  I had a friend from the board here visiting from Illinois and so that made it that much more fun.  Steven shook both of our hands twice and I also caught a drumstick and have a poster ad from the event.  Two old school gunner fans seeing GNR's original drummer couldn't have been any sweeter.  We were in the very front of the show and so we could have reached out and touched all of them, in fact they were dripping sweat on us, but obviously we did not want to be rude.  There were at least 5 openers and they all seemed to have some great skill.  I wish Steven the best and it seems he is finally back on the planet with the rest of us and is indeed enjoying his time on the road.  If you have the opportunity go seem him, it is a fantastick show.
I have many pictures of the event, but not many skills in posting, I have to always rely on my kids, so hope to share some of them soon.

Has Adler announced any solid dates for the UK, especially the North or Scotland

Has he announced any Irish dates - as he has that Irish flag up on his website?

I got to see Adler play the Whisky when I was in town for NAMM, it was pretty cool.  I didnt even know about it till I was walking up the Strip.  It was my first time in LA, I felt I HAD to go, you know?  It was pretty cool though.. totally worth it..checking Adler out playing in that historic venue.

Review of the show in Roeselare, Belgium:

Verlichte Geest, Roeselare
2011-02-09

Another sold-out night it was, when Knock Out Kaine (UK) and Adler's Appetite rained down on Roeselare.

Considering the crowd's response and the show itself, I believe this will be a hard one to top (and I'm sure all present will agree).

Knock Out Kaine warmed the people up, and then some! No opening band could have done a better job at clearing the stage for the Hollywood legends.

They walk the revival walk with full force, not giving a flying fuck about trends or hypes, playing good old hard rock n' roll, no compromise made at any point.

Knock Out Kaine was a show worthy of a proper own gig, although their material is not nearly known enough around these parts. Check out http://www.myspace.com/knockoutkaine and you'll figure it out, they've got the qualities to make it in the big league.

After this veritable rock feast, all eyes turned to the stage to see the main act. Noone more than Steven Adler was about to grace us with his presence.

In a set that was filled to the brim with Appetite For Destruction classics, it's needless to say that all hell broke loose.

"It's So Easy", "Nightrain", "My Michelle", "Mr. Brownstone", "Rocket Queen", they all passed and took our breath away. Steven's drumming was as tight as ever, the band performed like a jackhammer from hell and the atmosphere was just perfect.

In a bar with the size of a handkerchief, this is the embodiment of rock n' roll: sweat, front-to-back singing, everybody got a piece of the action, and it looked like it went down well with the band also.

Spread throughout the all-GN'R set, we got a taste of what Adler's Appetite can and will bring also. "Stardog", "Fading" and "Alive" were presented live as well as on a limited edition European EP, and they rocked our tits off. Check out the Steven Adler interview for further info on that.

Closing the set down with the inevitable classic "Welcome To The Jungle", this was nothing short of the perfect show. We got the opportunity to sit down with Steven afterwards, but upon returning, the bar was not empty at all.

Everybody wanted a piece of Hollywood's golden boy, signatures and photos all around, everybody got their little hang-out with the stars.

If this is the level of enthusiasm in the bands and dedication in the fans we're getting in this "revival", I'm all in...

STEVEN ADLER, CHIP Z'NUFF Interviewed On 'Classic Rock And Metal Podcast' (Audio) - Feb. 23, 2011

Oliver Barnes of the "Classic Rock And Metal Podcast" recently conducted an interview with former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler and bassist Chip Z'Nuff, both currently touring with ADLER'S APPETITE.

ADLER'S APPETITE is now in the U.K. for a series of shows mixing both GUNS N' ROSES and new material and the pair discuss their recent sell-out jaunt in Europe, the new material and the new lease of life they're finding on the road.

An excerpt from the interview can be heard using the audio player below.

See, I love Steven to bits. But he should never associate himself with bands like Steel Panther. They are notoriusly a "joke" band, and it can't be good to be seen with them, if your an ex member of a legendary band.  Cool

I really do believe that if Steven, treated himself more maturely and acted more responsibly like Duff. Then alot more people would have respect for him, and maybe he would draw bigger crowds.  ok

Steven doesn't realise how much he is valued and looked up to from fans and musicians alike. But it's the stuff like Celebrity Rehab and playing with bands like Steel Panther, which puts him in that category of "has been" or "washed up rocker".

I certainly don't think of Steven like that because I know his personality from being a hardcore GN'R fan. But other people might see him as someone who doesn't value himself and wants to play with anyone and everyone to stay credible. Tongue

He's out there having fun, or seems to be, and that's all that matters. There is nobody in Guns N' Roses, past or present that's immune to the perception of being "washed up". Nothing is going to change the fact that he played on one of the greatest rock records ever made. Why should he worry what people think of him? Especially people like us, that he doesn't even know exist.

I just want Steven to make wise decisions, and to keep his self worth in the process.

Sebastian Bach has stated that he thinks Steel Panther is a joke. So if Savage Animal thinks that, then it must be true, right.  hihi

I really want the best for Steven, and I do actually agree with most of your sentiments.  Smiley

See, now Steven rehersing with this guy leaves me puzzled, it really does.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Obviously all of Stevens friends are all part of the Hollywood scene in todays climate. So, if Steven is thinking about giving this person the frontman slot, isn't it inevitable that it's going to be another short lived affiar.

I don't see the longevity of hiring musicians who are currently part of the hollywood scene, they are just interested in drinking and partying. I really want Steven to get the perfect person for this, who genuinely wants a long career with Adlers Appetite. But I don't see it being someone, who Steven and Chip Z Nuff shared a couple drinks with after a show, and talked about this idea with.  Undecided

And as if that's not enough, it's sounds like he's already part of a band as well. Isn't that tempting fate, because that's what every Adlers Appetite ex frontman has done, which is to go back to their original band.  Tongue

The new guitar player is pretty cool.   The singer is ok, but his voice could maybe be a bit stronger or louder.     I'm sure they will get into a groove once they start touring together for a bit.

There was also a video interview with Steven on that page, and he said he used the theme of "George of The Jungle" for part of the drum beat in "Welcome To The Jungle"  and they show the comparison rofl
