I don't understand the refusal to come to Cleveland....we are a decent sized market and if you're going to come to Columbus, what is so hard about swinging up our way.

Is it me or are they playing basically what GN'R played in 2002?

- Philadelphia, PA @ Spectrum
- Toronto, ONT @ Air Canada Centre
- Chicago, IL @ Allstate Arena
...

About 10,000-15,000 max. capacity arenas right?

Title: Re: North American Fall tour
Post by: GNFNRS on October 08, 2004, 09:43:22 PM
THe Air Canada Centre can fit 19000+ I believe for hockey so I guess a concert could possibly hold more.  The Bell centre in montreal fits over 21000 for hockey.  These stadiums, like most large stadiums, can also be converted for smaller concerts so who knows what VR are planning.

Can't believe they are not coming to Cleveland-might go to Toronto-checked arena website, tickets not on sale yet-how far from Detroit is the Michigan site?

Title: Re: North American Fall tour
Post by: Eric on October 11, 2004, 01:59:44 PM
Yikes-checked the venue website for the Toronto date and there is a Maple Leafs game that night-this date will probably change. :-\

Title: Re: North American Fall tour
Post by: GNFNRS on October 11, 2004, 03:01:59 PM
The Leafs game will not happen because the owners have locked the players out in the hopes of getting a salary cap for the league.  I guess it's safe to say you are not Canadian?

Mt. Clemens is just north of Detroit, not far at all.  It's a 21 and older show though (check the venue site and show's details).  That sucks, so I have to go to Chicago, if my schedule allows it. :(

Surprising nobody has made any comments about VR playing Vegas December 31st. I wonder where they got the idea from.... :P

Maybe this is Slash's chance to get into the venue since he wasn't "allowed" a few years back.

On a side note, Will Axl make an special appearance?

Cool, are revolver doing stuff like adding around ten minutes or so for drum n guitar solos like in the gnr days?? If not that's where the shows are less in time..

I really wish they would play MSG.... :-[

Still 12 songs for OK: http://vr.belowempty.com/concerts/2004/041020_OklahomaCityOK.php

I don't know if I'm gonna pay 40 bucks and drive 150 miles round trip for 12 songs. The first part of the tour seemed better.

As far as the shows length, this is not even close to GN'R shows when they played solos. Even when you removed solos, concerts still lasted 110-120 min...usually even more. It seems like no band is playing long sets anymore anyway. On the last tour GN'R was 120 min. max.

This was still not a part of their regular tour right?  I checked the venue website and it said this was called Zoofest and there were 5 other bands.  Cause as much as I want to see this band, especailly Slash, I don't think I will be flying to Toronto for 12 fucking songs.

saw VR at the Arizona State Fair last night. Was pissed becuase parking was horrible and expensive, traffic and fair lines were horrible, I had 2nd row tix on floor but by the time I got into the coliseum show was mostly over. I cant believe they started right at 7pm shows never start that early at least the featured band usually never goes on that early.  Ive been waiting to see Slash Duff and Matt live since I became a GNR fan in '95. So I pushed and shoved my way to the front and caught the last three songs, Slither, Its So Easy and 1 other I couldnt tell which one b/c I was fighting to get to the front. Was only 15 ft away from my hero Slash looking so badass in leather pants no shirt tophat and cigarette.  Missing most of the show was made up by me catching one of Matts drum sticks. It was awesome, it was a beat up stick he was using for Slither. Lady next to me got Scotts sunglasses.  Anyways hope Ill see them again so I can can catch entire show.  BTW VR are really blowing up in the US. The coliseum was packed at least 10,000 going nuts in Arizona. Maybe more

What the hell...I got my tickets for Southaven! :) It was expensive as hell but I think it's worth it.

Glad to see you decided to go Will. Wish you could've been able to make it to the Birmingham, AL. show.

How much are they now?  They were only $20 when I saw them in Boston.

My tickets were $39.75/per ticket + $7.45 service charge/per ticket + $4.00 s/h = $98.40

But it's worth it.  ;)

Yeah Birmingham was kinda far for me! ;)

For me it was $40/ ticket + $10 service charge (x2) + $5 fees = $105.

i agree.....anything less than 80-90 minutes for this band is disgraceful, in my opinion. and lack of material is no excuse....they have tons of great cover songs to choose from.

I was at the Boston (Worcester) Show last night, overall the band was very good. But they have to have the worst sound crew in music supporting them on this tour. I was right around the sound board most of the show and they made no attempts to alter the terrible sound. I could clearly see the levels and they had highs and lows peaked all night while the mids were swept. Duff's bass and Matt's drums pretty much dround out the guitars and vocals. I just want to make clear that this was no reflection of the band, they were incredible, very high energy.

I have to say when they came out for the encore and began Mr. Brownstone (with the little YCBM Drum intro) I felt like it was 1987-1993 all over again..... due to the fact that you couldn't make out Scott's vocals most of the night that was probaly the closest I'll ever get to seeing my vision of Guns N' Roses live ever again.

Anyway my message to the band is "Fire your sound crew!"
