Post by: Mutherfunker on December 31, 2004, 08:53:40 AM
"Word up .. Eighties is voted top music era

THE 1980s produced the best music of all time, according to a new poll.

The decade that gave us Madonna, Wham! and Kylie Minogue was voted top in a survey of listeners by Virgin Radio.

Of the top 500, 158 were from the 1980s - compared to 141 from the 1970s, 95 from the 1990s and only 60 from the 1960s. The rest were from the past five years.

Eighties classics which made the top 20 include Pride by U2, Every Breath You Take by The Police and Don?t You Want Me by Human League.

The poll was topped by Led Zeppelin?s 1970s favourite Stairway to Heaven, followed by U2?s One, Sweet Child O? Mine by Guns N? Roses, Everybody Hurts by REM and Angels by Robbie Williams.

More than 20,000 listeners voted in the poll, which was due to be counted down on the station today."

This is from Virgin Radio in the UK. Pretty cool. I wouldn't have thought of SCOM coming third. Especially by an audience who voted 'Angels' by Robbie Williams into fifth.

Axl should release "chinese democracy"... no, in fact he must. The world seems surfing on a GN'R wave right now, there are lots of good signs. Why the hell is doing Axl? He is wasting a precious time! He must release the album as soon as he is still healthy and physically OK to Tour. He is in his 40's, physically he is still relevant, he is not "old", but after 50, it will become more and more difficult to run onstage during 2 hours+. It's Human, it's called age, and nobody can avoid that.
