Title: BH/Slash mention from Dave Navarro
Post by: Falcon on January 24, 2005, 10:56:18 PM

8. Who's the better guitar player, Slash, or Buckethead?

Well, Bucket is really different, which I like, but you know, Slash is my boy. I'd have to go with, Slash baby!

slash is totally gone, buckethead is mad but buckethead is a much more skilled guitarist. Slash can only do old fashioned blues rock

Actually this is a good question... who is better... now, the question is subjective in itself... better means different things... but for Dave to choose Buckethead would be odd, because Dave and Slash are similar in some style and that would rub off of their opinions.  I prefer Slash to any other guitarist for his style and technique...  no one touches Slash in my opinion.  That's not to say everyone has the same view.  But it's better than choosing between two similar players because it shows a defining difference in Dave's opinion.  Proving what style Dave prefers.

Well everyone has his/her own opinion.. Even Dave didn't say Buckethead sucks. I like slash but buckethead is also a very good guitar player. When bucket still with GNR, he did not disappoint. He kick ass and when he leaves, it must be very hard for AXL.

The obvious, sane choice is Slash. He was on all the GNR albums, and BH hasn't been on any. There shouldnt even be any comparison. A Slash/BH comparison is just as dumb as the Slash/Robin comparisons.

Bh will never ever be a gnr member past in my eyes... The guy was apart of a few shows and if you blinked you would have missed it..

Without Axl, I cannot stomach Slash's post-Gnr work. I can however enjoy almost every Bucket album, so innovative and amazing.

Some people feel the exact opposite.

I'm with you Mikkamakka : ok: Buckethead's solo stuff is a bit too experimental for me but I love the first snakepit album and VR and his work on Gilby's debut solo album
