They were talking about playing a song at 5, but never mentioned the band, and since a Guns N' Roses song just ended one of the guys said "Is it from Chinese Democracy," the dj said, "That's a real kneeslapper, but it's a good segway from Guns N' Roses," and they went on talking about something else. I'm pretty sure it was just a bad joke.

i live in new york. krock just modified its format recently (went from current rock to a mix of current rock and classic rock.)

hence, they have a new website that is not yet updated. they are also trying an experimental online streaming that is NOT the same as the radio stream.

and yes, they are a very big rock station that is credible.

If (and I emphasize IF) the station said this, then someone needs to get them on the phone, pronto, and get some clarification.  Its obvious that they didn't play anything at 5 - and my guess is they won't at all.  I'd be curious as to exactly what their motivation for saying such a thing would be - obvious DJ BS aside.. which is, of course, the most likely scenario.

Whenever there is going to be a Guns premiere it wont be on one exclusive station.. It will be broadcasted to all the major radio markets across the US. And also a radio station isnt going to start promoing the song the day of. A new Guns N Roses song could be a ratings boost and they would have promos running and talking about it several days in advance. ...MAYBE

Then they aired the White Stripes...Just a "joke"/ hoax on their part I suppose. I'm guessing they were trying to get some people to listen to their show is all...

If KROQ or whatever actually played IRS, there's no way in hell they used the MP3 version(s) (cleaned up or not) circulating on the internet. Quality is WAY too poor to be aired on radio, unless they didn't care about it and just aired a poor sound quality "high gen early demo"...

I was listening to K Rock for over 2 hours from 3:55 - 5:25 and it was not aired... Must've been another channel if this was true...

All things a side, whether or not it be the first single off CD or just something they sell on itunes, Yesterday would of been the perfect day in the US to release it as Every Rock Station would of played it atleast once. All Classic Rock and New Rock station would of played the tie in letting everyone in the country who listens to rock here the new single.

It seems KRock in NYC were talking about G N' R a lot yesterday.  A dj even went so far as to say the album will be released at the end of the summer.  When it comes to the djs over at KRock take EVERYTHING they say with a grain of salt - they all think they are comedians, and have real pompous attitudes.  Shtick is there first priority, the music and the bands are unfortunately second.
