Well, I figured that it would make things go faster so we weren't still doing this a year from now, but i'll do what everyone wants. do a quick poll I guess while you are voting and I'll go with the majority. This round will stay the same and I'll change the format next round if necessary. The question, Vote off 1 or 2 albums every three days? The way i look at it is: if the album isn't common knowledge then chances are it's not the greatest album ever then is it? Of my favorite 10 albums of the 21st century Nickleback "the state" - not nominated Megadeth "The System has Failed" - missed the cut Pantera "Reinventing the Steel" - missed the cut A Perfect Circle "Mer De Noms" - missed the cut A Perfect Circle "Thirteenth Step" - missed the cut Three Days Grace "Self Titled" - not nominated STP "Shangri-la-dee-da" - missed the cut Audioslave "Out of Exile" - missed the cut Disturbed "10,000 fists" - missed the cut I think alot of people would agree that those are good albums, but bands like Libertines made it ??? So what, majority rules. As a voter your job is to vote off your least desirable album in the list, some people have no desire to listen to those albums so therefore one such album isn't "The Greatest Album of all Time". Like i said Majority rules, like it or leave it, You gonna vote or not? Aava's going to kick your ass :hihi: Title: Re: "Greatest Album of All Time" Survivor - 21st Century (Round 1) Post by: Neemo on February 01, 2006, 04:34:04 PM Aava's going to kick your ass? :hihi:   Didn't mean it as a slam to The Libertines but I've never even heard of them. I can't imagine them to be better than APC, Pantera or Megadeth though :-\ I would be greatly surprised. But then again my musical tastes aren't for everyone. It's prolly a good thing I'm not voting in this :hihi: Title: Re: "Greatest Album of All Time" Survivor - 21st Century (Round 1) Post by: Aava on February 01, 2006, 05:55:28 PM I think alot of people would agree that those are good albums, but bands like Libertines made it ??? Please. Understandable from someone who listed Nickelbacks album as one of the best of the 21st century. The Libertines but I've never even heard of them. Maybe you should do something about it. Please. Understandable from someone who listed Nickelbacks album as one of the best of the 21st century.  Tsk tsk tsk, if you only knew  kidding. I bought Nicklebacks first? (well second really) album when they were still an indipendant act. And The State is by far their best album IMHO.? With their album "silver side up" is when they sold out and that's also about the time when that damn "hero" song was released for the spiderman soundtrack. Trust me, I change the radio station as fast as the next person when Nickleback comes on, but you aren't gonna hear a song from "the State" on the radio. I'm not much of a fan of more current music, I'm a late '80's / early '90's music fan more than anything. The Libertines only got? the ??? cuz I had never heard of them until the nominations began, I wasn't knocking them. They got enough votes to make it to the voting stage so they must be decent right? : ok: I was gonna give The Strokes a listen cuz I like that "Last Night" song. Should I try The Libertines instead? Title: Re: "Greatest Album of All Time" Survivor - 21st Century (Round 1) Post by: Aava on February 01, 2006, 07:22:25 PM I was gonna give The Strokes a listen cuz I like that "Last Night" song. Should I try The Libertines instead? Mayby you should try both and forget Nickelback and Megadeth. ;) Title: Re: "Greatest Album of All Time" Survivor - 21st Century (Round 1) Post by: AxlsMainMan on February 01, 2006, 07:23:31 PM I think alot of people would agree that those are good albums, but bands like Libertines made it ??? Maybe you should do something about it. You go girl! : ok: Sorry dude, I know music is subjective blah blah blah, but Nickelback are the worst of the worst....Chad's voice just sends shivers down my spine and no I dont mean that in a good way... And before you say check out tracks from The State, I own that album and hate it, and saw them in support of it when they were opening for Everclear...guess which band got beer thrown at? :hihi: Quote I was gonna give The Strokes a listen cuz I like that "Last Night" song. Should I try The Libertines instead? Dude, Im a huge, huge Strokes fan and while Last Night is a killer track from a "fillerless" album, I strongly urge you too check out the Libertines.. Specifically "Cant Stand Me Now", "Dont Be Shy" or "Dont Look Back into the Sun" that is unless of course Aava has better recommendations? ;) Title: Re: "Greatest Album of All Time" Survivor - 21st Century (Round 1) Post by: Aava on February 01, 2006, 07:31:01 PM Specifically "Cant Stand Me Now", "Dont Be Shy" or "Dont Look Back into the Sun" that is unless of course Aava has better recommendations? ;) Heh. Don?t Look Back Into The Sun is amazing. Time For Heroes and Up The Bracket are easy to start with. Like i said Majority rules, like it or leave it, You gonna vote or not? can we have a thread for the greatest bellends of the 21st century? this poodle would definitely top it. Im not even a fan of the Libertines, but those albums you listed are pretty much all shite, both libertine albums are far more important than any nickleback album. How can you even question the libertines if you've never even heard them? you bellend! Title: Re: "Greatest Album of All Time" Survivor - 21st Century (Round 1) Post by: Neemo on February 02, 2006, 04:57:16 PM Cuz i never even heard of them. thats what the ??? was for. Its clear that you need to expand you're musical tastes. Good Luck, Bellend. : ok: Title: Re: "Greatest Album of All Time" Survivor - 21st Century (Round 1) Post by: Neemo on February 03, 2006, 08:58:57 AM yeah thats Ryan Adams, not Bryan Adams, did you even know that? he's one of the finest contemporary blues artists around. My musical boundarys prolly stretch farther than you can conceive of so don't make too many assumptions. :peace: FYI, I tend to lean towards the Hard Rock/Metal side of things, you I see tend towards, pansy music :hihi: P.S. "Bellend" was a tiny bit funny the first 4 times you used it but now it's just getting tired. try to come up with a better catch phrase. :-* |
