If the album leaks, you won't need to release it anyway.

And mister probably got it from that chick at mygnr or merck email or someone else but the leaks do need to stop NOW.

you're not going to stop leaks of material once it gets out of the hands of those who want to keep it hidden. its impossible. promo copies of records are going to find their way onto the internet before release date and thats something the gnr management are just going to have to either accept or deny new material forever.

The thing is, when it comes to Gn'R is very hard to be more open to ideas, since 95% of what you read in forums are nothing but rumours, speculations, etc.

i don't get what the prob is that the songs are being leaked.. its creating a huge buzz.. and its not costing the record company or the gnr camp a penny.. ?plus all of the songs are being well recieved.. i actuallly think better is in a class of its own.. its not like the songs leaking are getting poor reviews like OMG... once the cd is released anyone could get it off of morpheus... for free anyway.. most of the fanatis downloading the leaked songs are going to buy the album anyway. ?

I think the main problem people have with ur theory is that we have no clue C.D. is coming out in the first place, let alone if the General leaks, thats why there is so many against you

fuck you fuck my space that is the gayest shit in the world anyone who has it is a fag. i said use your head. You want the leaks to continue you want everyone to have a copy of CD before they put the fucking thing out then fine i hope the do continue i hope the whole fucking CD final version is leaked out tonight or tomorrow morning then you can see how good they are.

Title: Re: a warning:
Post by: 1987 on February 18, 2006, 08:54:11 PM
i also don't understand why exactly axl would decide not to release album if more songs are leaked.. ?would it be out of spite.. and just to punish the diehards that have been waiting since 1993.. there is too much money involved for him to just decide not release an album because of what goes on on message boards.. then again i know nothing about the industry.. just a fan..

It just makes me feel so helpless   :'(   I so want to hear the finished product, but I have no control over the asses who want to leak the material.  It's the One Bad Apple, right?

Getting one more leak is not worth losing the album.  We've heard he's doing the album for himself.  He has his album, he doesn't have to release it if he feels he's being taken advantage of.  Oh God, please don't leak anymore  :crying:

It's the One Bad Apple, right?

It sure is, and I do hope he doesn't change his mind because of this "one bad apple", and I don't think he will, since I don't believe the fans have anything to do with all of this. We just listen to it, and like it's being said, everyone who listens to the leaks is going to buy the album anyway, so what's the big deal all about?

This topic is absurd.? The record is coming out when it comes out, end of story.? The leaks won't make it happen any sooner or later than they've already planned.

i dont think it is. axl is a pretty powerful guy concerning the gnr name and his material. and we all know he is a volatile artist. it is quite plausible he would pull chinese democracy out of spite. and while id be shocked if this warning was in any way legitimate, i dont think its out of the question for axl to retreat again out of spite.

and it is equally possible that the release date(!) will be affected by leaks (these are just demos/unmastered so they maybe wont have much impact unless they become larger in volume). there have been countless cases (the most recent being the strokes, most notorious metallicas st. anger) of albums being brought forward due to the records being leaked.

but i dont think the power axl wields or the fear of a retreat should strike so deeply. people need to catch a grip. and if axl does retreat then so be it. he would be monumentally (even for him) unfair to his fans who love him and his art to deny us of material we have already made a deep connection with be it in the form of these demos or live bootlegs. and i guess we'd then just have to wait till he dies before hearing the stuff. but the point is, people (either the management or the fans) shouldnt be such crybabies over the leaks of a few unmastered tunes.

Title: Re: a warning:
Post by: Midnight Gunner on February 18, 2006, 09:45:17 PM
If leaks make Axl mad, than I'm sorry, but the album should've been out a while ago.  I can understand someone's want and need to try and make the best possible product for his fans but it's been what, 13 years now?...I think that's enough time.

As for the leaks, though I do disagree with them, I do find them a little reward for all of us who have been teased, lied to, and have been more than patient with all involved.  If you want to punish someone, find out who leaked the songs online, but don't punish the innocent people who just grabbed the raining money when they saw it falling from the sky.

Axl, if indeed you or you're people are reading these threads and posts, don't punish us for we are the ones who have continued to praise, believe, and follow you and everything that you do.

You have to admit, if Axl were so upset that people were listening and was at the verge of stopping the albums release, why wouldn't he just have his lawyer or manager put a stop to it? He could put out a statement easily, and when it comes to legal matters, he's done that before (Latigo hammer anyone?) You have to admit, if Axl were so upset that people were listening and was at the verge of stopping the albums release, why wouldn't he just have his lawyer or manager put a stop to it? He could put out a statement easily, and when it comes to legal matters, he's done that before (Latigo hammer anyone?) Why would he whisper to a source, to whisper it to another source, who whispers it to you? Did they instruct you to say this? Your post, even if its genuine, is very confusing...

The language is a little coarse to be a legal threat... but ok.

Still this should have been sent out everywhere, including GNR websites. Jarmo, did you get something sent to you like this?(besides Mysteron asking)

But I have to say a manager telling fans: DON'T TALK ABOUT IT! kind of reminds me of Leslie Neilson in Naked Gun standing in front of that fireworks shop that's exploding and setting people on fire, while he's saying: Nothing to see here. Go on home. Nothing is happening behind me... :hihi:

3. Dont feed the leaked tracks after midnight

Or something like that.

His management let out a statement saying the first IRS leak was legit and was a rough demo when Mike Piaza leaked it on the trunk show... Axl said he was a Roger Clemons fan in response to Piaza leaking the song... Piaza responded that it was a shame to see how out of touch Axl is.

I'm not jumping on you about this, but your posts are so vague you aren't really getting your message across that you have a legit source, close to Axl, saying don't listen, don't talk, don't think about these leaks or CD is going to be dead and buried.

By saying you have a source you're leaving yourself open by not saying who or what it is. You are actually doing more harm than good in this respect. If you were given this info I don't understand why you can't divulge who its coming from.

i never wanted this to be me having to prove to you anyhting, but if it's come to that, that's pretty sad.

Let me try this again. If you are really trying to help, just give us reason to believe you. Tell us who the source is. The reason you created this thread was to help us and, I assume, help yourself as a fan, by not doing anything that would block CD from seeing the light of day.

fuck misterbrownstone.......

"that old man, he's a real mother fucker, gotta kick him on down the line"

standing up for tha band, are ya???? ? ?all we did was listen. ONE person leaked the songs, but yet the warning is here?

Shove your warning up your ass!!!

I don't have "The General" or "Catcher in the Rye" but if I Did, I would listen to them, as any one would do, and I would share them, with whoever wanted them, until they are available on iTunes or similar....

Also I can't believe this thread has even gone this far.? If we just ignore these idiots like mrbrownstone who know nothing and are clearly just looking for attention they'll eventually go away.

Temper runs parallel to credibility quite often - This isn't the right thread to hold that discussion.  Listen man, from one human being to the next - if you're being wholehearted and honest, then give us the bottom line and we'll cut the bullshit right here and right now.  Who are you, what do you have to say, and why should we believe you?  Say it all, say it once, and leave it at that.
